Chapter 32:

I quickly shoved my things into my bag and hauled my bag onto my back as I sped out of the classroom, along with the other thirty students.

One more lesson to go, I thought as I emerged from the sea of bodies.

Sadly, I didn't share this lesson with any of our 'misfits' so I had to walk to my next lesson by myself. But if I was lucky sometimes I would bump into Josh or Casey on the way.

A group of rowdy boys appeared at the end of the corridor I was walking down. I could see James Turner and Dom Blare amongst the group but what caught my attention was Callan standing inbetween them laughing. His blue eyes shone at Dom and James and I felt a shiver run down my spin the closer he got.

I quickly pulled my hoodie around me and walked to the side of the corridor, behind a group of girls. I followed slowly behind them, my heart thundering in my ears, as Dom walked past shouting about something.

Seconds later Callan walked past with a couple boys flanking him. I held my breath as I watched him cautiously out of the corner of my eyes. But I quickly whipped my head around when Callan looked in my direction.

"Hey Ash!" He called, drawing out my name. Clenching my jaw I turned around to look at him, my eyes frozen from any emotion.

Realising I wasn't going to say anything, Callan spoke,"your rehearsal today was really good."

He stalked up to me with hungry eyes that have clearly had an ego boost recently.

Damn rehearsal!

I stayed silent, glaring at him.

"I especially like the last song," he smirked and my eyes narrowed.

"Not about you," I snapped.

"You kind of wanna be more than friends?" Callan smirked, ignoring my comment and leaned towards me, resting his hand on the wall behind me. My eyes widened slightly as I looked up at his smug face.

"Not one of the songs I was going to dedicate to you," I scoffed while cringing as his warm breath fanned my face.

"Say goodbye to my heart tonight?" He repeated the songs lyrics again as he leant even closer to me, his heart crushing eyes moving down to my lips. My eyes widened when he only stopped millimetres away from my face. Any closer and he would be kissing me!

"Again, not dedicated to you," I frowned and pushed myself back into the wall, my jaw clenching so tight my teeth could shatter at any moment.

"I find that hard to believe," he muttered before his lips crashed into mine.

My eyes shot wide open and I froze as his lips moved powerfully against my frozen ones. One of his hands rested on my hip as the other pressed against the wall next to my head. My mouth hung open in shock as memories flashed through my mind.

His lips felt like cold worms against my skin making me squirm as a sickening feeling bubbled in my stomach. Everything I was feeling now was completely the opposite to what I felt four years ago. And what I felt four years ago was nothing compared to how Corey made me feel now. The fire Callan ignited then was nothing but a flickering flame struggling to stay alight compared to the raging wildfire Corey released inside of me.
