Unlucky for Corey he was sat right next to the loudest person in our maths class, Dom Blare. But he could just look to the right and be looking straight at me. For some reason I have mixed feelings about that and if it was anyone else I wouldn't care at all.
As the lesson went on Corey's face became more and more agitated. He barely said a word and whenever I caught his eye he would have this pleading puppy dog face on, which sent shivers through my body.
Yup, I definately am coming down with something-
"Ash Lee, are you paying attention to my lesson or staring into space?" Mrs Baker shouted at me, making me jump a mile out of my skin. Damn she was in a bad mood.
"Uh, no Ms I am paying attention,"I stuttered.
"If I see you slacking again it will be a lunch time detention for you!"
"Yes Ms," I murmured.
As she was going back to teaching the class I looked over at Corey to find him already looking at me with a sympathetic expression on his face, making another wave of shivers pass through me. I ignored them and gave a small smile as I returned back to watching Mrs Baker teach us some nonsense we would probably never use again.
-------------------------
Every now and then I would catch Corey gazing at me from across the room. Unsure of what to do I just smiled shyly and turned back to my work. It happened so often that I think I need to ask him about it after the lesson, which was only five minutes away.
Getting impatient I started to slowly put my things back in my pencil case as Mrs Baker was ranting to the class about how the lesson isn't over yet. When I was finished it was less than a minute until the bell would ring, so I discretely closed my book and waited.
Brriiinnnggg
The whole class basically jumped to their feet and rushed to put their things in their bags.
Following their lead I shoved my things in my bag and rushed towards the door, whilst looking for Corey.
"Where do you think you are going?" A deep voice said behind me.
I jumped around, holding my hand over my heart in shock. In front of me was a smirking Corey who looked like he was about to burst out laughing.
"Corey! Why did you scare me?"
"I...thought...it would....be...funny!" He finally managed to say through fits of laughter.
I sighed,"very funny Corey. Can we go now?"
"One minute. Let me calm down first."
"Ugh come on or do you want to find your next class by yourself," I said whilst turning around and walking down the now almost empty corridor.
"Wait up!" I heard Corey call after me. I laughed to myself as I carried on walking down the corridor.
I was stopped by a hand on my arm spinning me around to face a smiling Corey who was breathing slightly heavily as he locked his gaze with mine. Sparks of warmth radiated from where his hand was holding my arm.
Blushing I turned around and started walking towards my next lesson. I looked over my shoulder and called,"are you coming then?" I smirked and I turned back around, waiting for him to catch up.
When Corey caught up with me I asked,"so what room are you in next?"
After he replied we made our way towards his lesson, a smirk still plastered to my face.
--------------------------
Once we arrive, his class was still lined up outside the classroom. Corey turned to me, a foreign glint in his eyes.
"Thanks for walking me here,"he said pearing down at me.
"You're welcome," I said holding his gaze.
The silence stretched between us as we held our gazes, it somehow seemed like a competition.
We were drawn back to reality when the students around us started moving into their classroom. A blush spread across my cheeks as I realised we were surrounded by lots of people glancing at us.
Looking down at my feet, tucking my dirty blonde hair behind my ear, I stepped backwards and mumbled goodbye before rushing off to my next lesson, which I was bound to be late to.
At least I have a reasonable excuse... I thought to myself as I turned the last corner towards my classroom.
