Chapter 16:It was Sunday afternoon and I was stretched out on my bed, watching Lucifer with Hattie. She laid next to me in a light blue sweater and sweatpants. An empty packet of popcorn was littered in between us as Tom Ellis, the very sexy Devil in a suit if I don't say so myself, appeared on my laptop screen.
"He is one fine specimen isn't he?" Hattie drooled rhetorically, making me chuckle.
"Nothing's better than a fallen angel."
"Except for Corey..." She chuckled, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Duh, just imagine Corey at his age..." I said dreamily as I started to picture Corey 38 years old.
"He'll be hot," Hattie agreed. Snapping my head towards her with wide eyes, I gasped and playfully slapped her shoulder.
"That's my boyfriend you are talking about!"
"And you have my approval," a smile had formed across her face in amusement.
I narrowed my eyes at her,"you're not my mother!"
"But I am your best friend and I have to deal with you when he breaks your heart or be there when you are stressing over the wedding, either way I have the hard job of keeping you sane."
"Touché."
Laughing we both turned back towards the Devil himself, falling into a calm silence as we watched Tom Ellis work his magic on some other poor human.
I was rudely ripped from my viewing by my phone vibrating on the duvet next to me. Sighing I picked it up and looked at the screen.
Who dares interrupt this sacred moment?
My eyes widened when I saw the notification on my screen.
"What is it?" Hattie asked as she looked over my shoulder.
"Callan just sent me a friend request on Facebook..." Wide eyed I looked up at Hattie, who was still taller than me sitting down,"what do I do?"
"Delete it, he doesn't deserve your attention."
"Right," unlocking my phone I opened the app and deleted the friend request. Putting my phone back on my bed I continued to watch Lucifer but I kept on finding it hard to focus as my thoughts kept on drifting back to Callan.
Why would he want to be friends now? It's not like anything has changed. He's happy with his parade of girls following him around because he is such an 'amazing guy' and I'm happy with my Callan-less and Corey filled life.
Rolling my eyes I pushed all thoughts of him to the back of my head and continued to watch Lucifer. However, that didn't last for long. Again, my phone vibrated and I picked it up muttering to myself, something about why people couldn't leave me in peace. When I looked at the screen a low groan escaped my throat, making Hattie look at me with wide, curious eyes.
"It's him, again."
"Seriously? What does he want?"
"He sent me another friend request," rolling my eyes I quickly deleted the request. Just as I was about to lock my phone it vibrated, again.
Unknown number: I just wanted to say that your concert was really good on Friday. Callan
"What now?" Hattie asked.
"He texted me," a strange feeling had started to form in the pit of my stomach as I showed Hattie the text.
"Why does that bastard suddenly want to talk to you after all this time?" Hattie's voice had started to become laced with annoyance. Unlike me who was just confused. Lucifer has been long forgotten.
