Chapter 26:My stomach throbbed as I gained consciousness, my eyes forming slits as I squinted from the morning sunlight. A soft hand stroked my skin as a pair of strong arms clung around my waist. A small smile clung to my lips as I melted into the warm body that pressed against my back. The throbbing feeling morphed into a giddy one as Corey's arms tightened around my waist and he buried his head in the crook of my neck. I blindly reached my hand up to his head gingerly until my hand landed on his hair. I cupped his cheek and tilted my head to look over my shoulder at him.
"Morning," I hummed, my voice still raspy from just waking up.
"Morning," his husky voice mumbled against my lips. I smiled as I kissed him back, my heart swelling as a small part of me clicked into place. I couldn't help but feel this was right, this was where I was supposed to be. Maybe not forever but at least for now. I hope forever...
My alarm suddenly burst to life, screaming through the silence. I groaned, wanting to stay in Corey's warm arms for a little longer, and rolled over to the edge of my bed. I turned off my alarm, to the relief of my eardrums, and rolled back around to face Corey. I was met by a pair of dark eyes as strong arms pulled me closer. His soft lips pressed against mine and a quiet, relieved noise seeped out of my throat as I sunk into the kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled my face up closer to his.
"Morning sweetheart," he said when we parted, his thumb stroking my back. I chuckled when he said this. You've already said morning.
"Morning again."
A deep chuckle erupted through his chest as he smiled down at me. A mirroring smile spread across my lips as I gazed back at him. I moved my hand down along his chest, trailing my fingers along his skin, my eyes following them. Corey's hands pressed against my back as I started to swirl my finger randomly along his chest. He tilted his head down and gently kissed my lips, making me lift my head up to look at him as he continued to place sweet kisses on my lips. My heart started to beat rapidly as it swelled inside my chest, making my ribcage constrict against it.
"Ash, Corey! Time to get up!" My mums voice shouted through my bedroom door. I rolled my eyes but smiled thankfully as she clearly knew we would have lost track of time if we stayed in each other's arms any longer.
"Come on," I said as I started to sit up. Corey pouted as he watched me sit up. I smiled at him as I leant down and placed a tender kiss on his lips. Corey hummed as our lips touched which made me chuckle. I leant away from him and patted his chest, smiling.
"I'll get changed in the toilet, you can change in here. Do you want me to get any of Ryan's clothes for you?"
"Nah, I'll wear what I wore yesterday," he gazed up at me with large loving eyes.
"Okay," I climbed out of bed and walked over to my wardrobe, taking out my clothes before walking towards the bathroom. I could feel Corey's eyes following me as I moved across the room.
"Be quick, I'll miss you."
I looked at Corey, biting my lip, a small blush dusting my cheeks. I smiled at him as our eyes locked,"I'll miss you more."
We shared a smile before I dragged my eyes away from his and walked into the bathroom. I got changed as quick as humanly possible, my skin cold from the loss of Corey's touch. A cheeky part of me hoped Corey would still be changing when I left the bathroom. Once I changed into my favourite black genes and my off shoulder black Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt, I picked up my hairbrush before walking back into my bedroom.
