We all gathered in the barn, viewing the unconscious girl laying on the table in front of us. She had long, brown hair, and a stab wound in her left shoulder, which Seungcheol was treating currently.
I wasn't sure what to make of the situation. Run Squad just turned up, telling us they had a girl who needed treated immediately. The faces around me also read a look of confusion, maybe some were horrified.
"Jun, run in the house and get a bottle of water." Seungcheol commanded, keeping his eyes on the girl's open wound.
As Jun left the barn, most of us followed. Mingyu stayed behind with Seungcheol and the girl, but as for the rest of us, we exited and headed back toward the farmhouse. As the herd of us reached the doorway, there was a bit of an issue with us all trying to squeeze in at once, but we somehow managed to make it into the living room without a fight breaking out.
I was last to enter the room. I first stopped in the kitchen to make sure Jun was on his way out to Seungcheol, then made my way back to the others.
"Okay, can someone explain to me what the hell happened?" Vernon looked directly into DK's glazed eyes. Seokmin looked as if he was on the verge of tears.
"We got to the gas station, and most of the stuff was packed in the truck, but I heard something fall inside the store and ran in to check it out." After he got this far into the explanation, his words started coming out swollen, "That girl was hiding behind a counter, and I panicked. I got afraid she'd try to hurt someone, so I panicked and threw my knife into her shoulder."
"Okay, I know this is serious and all," Jihoon muttered, "But why the hell do you know how to throw knives?"
DK shrugged, basically stating it wasn't important, then sighed and placed his elbows on his knees, his head in his hands. "I can't believe I stabbed someone."
"Seokmin, calm down." Chaeji placed a hand on his shoulder. "It was out of sheer horror. We all know you wouldn't hurt someone for no reason, and I'm sure this girl will forgive you too."
DK looked up to her and gave a small smile, before looking over in my direction, "Mom, I'm hungry."
"Oh my god, you were a normal person for one second there, Donkey Kong!" Soyeon joked, getting to her feet. "We'll try to hurry up on dinner."
At that time, Soyeon, Chan, Jeonghan, Jihoon, and Joshua left for the kitchen once more.
Vernon nudged me in the side, just like he had earlier this night. It had become a signal meaning something important. I could assume what he meant with this nudge.
"So," I started, speaking loud enough for the group to see I was announcing something. "While you were gone, out doing your thing, we solved and decided a few things."
Vernon continued on from there, "We decided that our meals will be eaten together. That means we'll eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a group, rather than wasting food eating separately. Snacks are allowed, but we strictly prefer that you keep them to a minimum."
"This will change eventually, when we find a steady food supply, but until then, we'll be sticking to a consistent food schedule." I added on, "We also decided who the leaders are."
"Leaders?" Hoshi's eyes stayed in their slits, but yet they seemed to be even more squinted than usual. "More than one?"
"Yea." Vernon announced, "Raejin and I will be taking lead for now on. We decided two leaders would be better than one."
"But Mom! I thought I was leader!" DK whined. I groaned.
"Lee Seokmin, you need to stop."
