October 5th, 2016. A day to remember forever.
SOYEON'S POV
I felt like complete shit when we pulled out of the driveway. We were leaving our friends behind, and even though I knew they were going to make it out, some part of me felt like it wouldn’t go well after we were gone.
Seeing the Hell-whatever leader kill his own wife certified it. Gyeongha was telling the truth, he was insane. Not just insane, but a murderous bloodseeker, who wanted what he wanted and he got it. But not today.
Nope, his kids escaped.
The truck was silent as Hoshi drove down the badly paved road. With every bump we hit, I slid slightly closer to Chan. I couldn’t say I didn’t like it, but it was really weird for us to be so quiet, considering how noisy we were any other day. But Seungkwan was sat in the passenger seat, staring ahead with a blank expression. Mijeong and Jeongsoo were squeezed together on my left, appearing to be half asleep. Chan was on my right, looking at his hands in his lap.
And I... I was so concerned about those who were still at the farm as we ran for our lives.
And still, what had happened with Chaeji? I saw her all beat up and bloody, and it was more traumatizing than watching Gyeongha get her neck broken. Chaeji was someone we all cherished, someone we had grown to love. She was there with Raejin and Jeonghan as they found the entire rest of the group. I couldn’t even imagine how they felt, even though they hadn't known her much longer than I did.
Then again, Chaeji had a crush on Raejin. ChaeRae definitely would've topped my OTP list.
Chan nudged my side, pointing to Hoshi. He was driving with a now emotionless expression. Something had quickly changed in his mood, much like mine.
"Hoshi..." I called out, "Maybe we should turn around."
"We can't."
"But we left everyone there. We can hide the kids with Seungkwan at a gas station or something, and go back. I feel like they need us."
"Soyeon, I know you're scared and worried about them, and I am too. If I could turn around, I would, but that isn't an option." He glanced through the mirror at me, "I'm sorry, but I hope you understand why."
I thought through it again in my head, and it occurred to me that us going back would be a death sentence. Hell-nipple guy would kill us on sight if we went back. He probably figured it out that the kids are in here.
"I get it."
Chan casually wrapped an arm around my side, pulling me closer to comfort me. I sadly smiled at him, looking down.
Maybe I was overreacting.

"Guys." Hoshi began to slow the truck down.
"What?"
"You wanna stop and find something to snack on?" He suggested. "We can pull over for a second and find something in the bags to eat for the rest of the ride."
I had no problem with that. In fact, I was getting pretty hungry, but the worrying was just covering over it.
"Yea, sure." Chan said. Hoshi stopped the car.
