RAEJIN'S POV
Back in my own room, I felt a sort of pain and regret. I wanted to help the girls get out before it was too late for them, but there was nothing I could do without making it worse for everyone. Hyunjoon did trust me, and he didn't watch me like he did when I first arrived. I was now a friend due to the fact that I stayed and helped without trying to escape. Though he had been changing since our serious talk, he wasn't going to just go easy on the girls without seeing what they were capable of first.
Jaewon had stuck close to me since that dinner, after Hyunjoon and I decided he could test on me. That was just yesterday, and this morning, he took me out to find a rotter to bite me so I could turn and be cured. It worked, and the Doctor here, who went by the name of Dr. Jung, stitched up the bite mark. It still looked pretty nasty, and it must've looked horrifying to the outer eye, considering the fear in Soyeon's eyes when she saw it. I knew already that they thought I was going to turn, but I wasn't allowed to tell them much yet.
I heard a bit of commotion out in the hallway. There was yelling and slamming against walls, sounds of pain and reluctant moving. Jaewon, who was in my bathroom, came out to see if I had a clue what was going on. When he saw I didn't, he opened the door and looked out, gesturing to me to come see for myself.
I peeked my head out, afraid of the worst possible scenario. What I saw was possibly even worse that what I was expecting to see. Hyunjoon had a couple of his main guards with him, and they were pulling the girls out of their room into the hallway. All three were blindfolded again, and still were bounded at their wrists. Soyeon was thrown over the shoulder of one guard, Hyunkyung, while she kicked and screamed to be let go. Hyunkyung stood there calmly, waiting for his order. Another guard, Minyeong, held Yunmi's wrists back and pulled so he was stretching her arms, yet she didn't make a sound.
"I don't know, I haven't really tried to stop him and talk to him about it. I'm too afraid to talk to him alone. I'm scared he'll start yelling at me and I don't want to show fear."
A very long time ago, we were in the den of Vernon's home, having a girly conversation about the boys we liked. We started the conversation talking about Yunmi and how Seungcheol was always rude to her. She was afraid of showing fear to him, and we had advised her to stay strong and never show fear. Now, she had done so. I was proud of how far she came.
A third guard named Joosung held onto Choah's wrists and shoved her forward to line up with the girls. With that, I lost it and stomped out of the room toward Hyunjoon and his goons. He looked at me and smiled.
"Oh, Raejin, you're here. Any advice for how to treat your friends?" His words were no longer sincere like they were yesterday. He had gone back to his satanic-self.
"Well, for starters, Choah's pregnant so don't fucking throw her around like that." I snarled at him, then turned my glare toward Joosung the 3rd goon.
Hyunjoon shrugged, "You heard her. Loosen your grip, man."
Surprised he listened, I pushed my power a little further.
"Hey, Hyunkyung. That girl over your shoulder is 17, you sick bastard. That's technically child abuse."
"We've all done worse than that, haven't we, Raejin?" Hyunkyung taunted back. I hardened my stare.
"Put her down."
Hyunjoon sighed and snapped his fingers, gesturing for him to place her on the floor. He reluctantly did as he was told.
"As for Yunmi-"
"We don't have time for another lecture, Raejin." Hyunjoon cut me off, then pointed toward the stairwell. "Take them down to the Killing Room."
