"What's the real score?"
With what's happening for the past weeks, ang gulo gulo bes. Oo ganon!
Kung siya mayroon siyang 'haven' sa isang secluded area, mine is this cafe in the centre of the city. "The realest score is... it is still a tie at 1 point!" The television is showing a live telecast of Leicester vs Manchester match. There's been a confusion on what's the real score between them.
Wag niyong tutularan 'tong taong 'to.
Just as if I am not thinking of him, he sent me a text. Can I see you right now?
I'm finishing some requirements right now. Visit later tonight if you please. Sent 1:33 PM
I find those kind of messages hard to reply to. I guess he does, too. He just replied with a happy emoji.
I spent the day with those requirements. MBA is quite easy when you really enjoy what you're doing. Pero masakit pa din siya sa ulo. No easy way out, sabi nga nila.
I went home with a dining table full of food from a famous fast food chain. "Let's eat?"
James have a spare key of my flat. "I'm going to uni tomorrow. I'll get some papers."
"Can I come? I have no appointments tomorrow."
"Sure. Drive me there."
Nanonood lang kami ng tv 'til One Direction came up on the screen. Syempre I jumped around and sang along to Perfect. Nope. Not crazy.
"You must love them so much do you?"
"Yup. 6 years and counting. Have you met them?"
"I did, yeah. At the awards night. We sat next to each other. And they're nice guys. I kind of envy them for having each other's back."
"I got your back, James. Go to sleep. Gon' be a long drive tomorrow. Good night!"
I did my nightly rituals. Siguro it took long kasi paglabas ko, tulog na siya. I finalised the papers na ipapasa ko bukas kaya medyo natagalan din bago ako nakatulog.
Minutes after I closed my eyes, I heard James screaming.
"Mom! Mom!" Then he was crying, sobbing to be exact.
"James! Wake up!" Mga ilang minuto din bago siya nagising.
"Would you want to talk about it?" I guess he doesn't want to.
"Do you want to stay in my bed? You can have the nicer one fo—"
"My mom died in a car crash. We were going to fetch my brother in school but there was another car fast approaching the intersection." Tumingala siya at tinignan ako sa mata. "I was seated in the back seat. I called for help, but it was too late."
"Is that the reason for your scars?" He looked over his knee and nodded his head. "I'm sorry."
"Sing me to sleep?"
He laid back and closed his eyes.
We'll do it all, everything, on our own.
We don't need, anything, or anyone.
If I lay here, if I just lay here.
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know, how to say, how I feel.
Those three words, are said too much, they're not enough
If I lay here, if I just lay here.
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told, before we get too old.
Show me a garden that's bursting into life.
If I lay here, if I just lay here.
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Then he was fast asleep.
