Riker's P.O.V
I left Laura downstairs because I trust her. I trust her when she says that she's only getting food. So, I was sitting in my bedroom. I would like to say I wasn't scared, but I was. I was listening. Listening for Laura coming up the stairs so I could stop worrying, but that never happened. I sat in my room listening for half an hour. Eventually I thought that she had done what Ross told me to make sure she didn't do. "Laura?" I called. No reply. I walked downstairs to see her lying on the floor in a pool of blood. I ran over and saw that she had a massive cut all the way from her elbow to her wrist. Did she...do this on purpose? I picked her up and ran to my car. I put her in the back and strapped her in. I drove to the hospital as fast as I could.
She's in a hospital room now and it's all my fault. I tried to wake her up on the way here, but she was barely breathing. I just don't know why she would do this to herself! And why was I so stupid to think 'maybe stay with the girl that has locked herself in her room for several months and this is her first appearance since the Annie thing'! Ross is going to kill me!
Stormie's P.O.V
We all stayed for a cup of coffee in the church's coffee shop. I knew Riker wouldn't mind. I was standing talking to my friend Mindy when I got a text. "Sorry," I said while digging in my purse for my phone. Mindy smiled at me assuring me it was ok. I found my phone and lifted it out of my bag. I looked at my screen and saw I had a text from Riker, "At the hospital with Laura, come as fast as you can!" And then another one appeared, "they gave her a room. Please hurry, I don't know what to do!" Oh my goodness! Mindy must have noticed my paleness as she set her hand on my shoulder and said, "Is everything alright Stormie?" I handed Mindy my phone and she read over the message. "Everything's going to be ok Stormie, but you need to find Mark and get to the hospital!" She told me, giving me a reassuring hand squeeze. "What about the kids?" I asked. "I've got them, I'll grind them and bring them to the hospital for you, but I'll let you tell them what happened," she smiled at me. "Thank you," I said hugging her and then running off to find Mark.
Riker's P.O.V
I was sitting in the waiting room with my head in my heads, trying hard not to cry. "Riker?" I heard someone call. I looked up to see my mom and dad looking down at me. My mom had tear stain s down here face and I could see my dad was trying as hard as I was not to cry. "What room is she in?" Mom almost whispered. I pointed to the room opposite.
Mark's P.O.V
I walk into Laura's room to see here wired up to several machines. I know up until now I've been trying not to cry for Stormie's sake, but when I see my little Laura lying pale and lifeless, with needles coming out of her hands, I start crying. I grabbed Stormie's hands when I see she was crying too.
A doctor walked into the room several moments later and said, "Are you Mr and Mrs Marano?"
"No," I replied, "We're her guardians." Stormie explained what happened to Laura and about us legally becoming her guardians. Stormie showed her the papers and then the doctor was able to tell us what happened seeing Riker couldn't form any words. "She has a very deep wound from just below the inside of her elbow to the tip of her wrist, which we can only guess is from a knife. Does she have a problem with blood?" Stormie nodded her head and I said, "One time, my youngest son had to get stitches on his lip from cutting it during hockey and she went white. My other son, her boyfriend at the time, had to take her home to calm her down." The doctor nodded her head and continued, "Well then Laura must have fainted from the sight of her wound and hit her head hard on the floor. Your son saved Laura, but by the time he found her, she had lost a dangerous amount of blood that could possibly send her into a coma." Stormie nodded her head, slowly taking everything in. She started to cry and I lead her out of the room thanking the nurse for her help.
Ross's P.O.V
BACK WITH MINDY
"Guys, your mom and dad had to leave to help Riker with something, so I told your mom I would take you guys to her, ok?" Mindy asked us. Mindy has been my mom's best friend for ages now, so of course we all trusted her. We nodded our heads and followed her out to her car.
She parked outside the hospital. Why'd she park outside the hospital? "Mindy, what's wrong?" I asked her. "Ross, I told your mom that I would let her tell you. She sent me a message that she was in the waiting room, bye guys!" She said as we all got out of the car.
I walked into the hospital's waiting room with the rest of my siblings to see my mom and dad crying and Riker sitting with his head between his hands. "Mom, dad what happened?" Delly said running over and hugging them. Dad wiped away his tears and said, "Guys, it's Laura." I could feel all my other siblings, apart from Riker, look at each other, but i couldn't, i just stared at them. "What's wrong with her?" Ryland asked. "She cut herself with a knife," my mom said in tears. "On purpose?" Rocky asked. Dad shrugged and said, "We don't know. But she fainted, hit her head on the floor and lost a dangerous amount of blood that..." He couldn't finish his sentence for crying so my mom continued for him, "That might send Laura into a coma." Rydel started crying and the guys had to sit down, but I couldn't move. I was froze to the spot like some kind of animal caught in headlights. My mom stood up and pulled me down onto the seat beside her.
