This is Amanda's chapter! It takes place right after Ross and Amanda go home from their proposal. Keep in mind that in the last chapter, Ross is starting to notice Nicki's pregnancy more, and it is becoming more real to him. Ross’ POV

I was pacing outside of Nicki’s hospital room. It sure was taking a while in there. The next thing I know all of these nurses are rushing by me, and they’re going into Nicki’s room. I grab one of them and yell at him. 

“What’s going on in there!”  

He just brushed right past me and goes into the room. I run in after him.

“Hey, you’re not allowed to be in here!” someone yells at me, but I don’t care. The baby is lying in the bassinet, but that’s not where the nursed are rushing. They are running toward Nicki. The beeping on the heart monitor is faster than it should be, and she is trashing around in the bed.

“NICKI!” I yell.

Amanda’s POV

Ross had started to scream Nicki’s name as he slept. I yelled at him as I shook him awake. He wakes abruptly, shooting up into a sitting position.

“Ross, what happened? You were screaming out Nicki’s name!” I yelled.

“It was just a bad dream…” he says as he breathes heavily. 

“Come on, let’s go back to bed,” I say as I lay back down. 

Ross is shaking so hard that I can feel him from the other side of the bed, so I scoot closer to him. He wraps his arm around my waste and pulls me close enough so that our foreheads are almost touching. I bring my hand up to his face and slowly rub circles on his cheek with my thumb.

“I love you, Amanda,” he says softly.

“I love you, too,” I respond. I softly kiss him to comfort him even more. Then I take my hand off of his face and wrap it around his waist, slowly rubbing circles into his damp back until I can feel his breathing go from short and sporadic to long and rhythmic. I know that he has fallen back asleep.
