Rydel's POV

Nicki and I were heading to the doctor to find out what baby Lynch was. Straight after, we were going to buy clothes for the baby.

Nicki laid down on the examination table as the doctor warmed up the gear that makes you see the baby.

Ultrasound. That's what it's called.

The baby popped up on the screen. I marveled at how amazing it looked, but I didn't get long because the doctor was just as ready as we were to find out what the baby was.

He examined in silence for about five minutes, but to Nicki and I, it felt like ten million years. Finally, he looked up at us with a smile on his face.

"Congrats. Baby Lynch is a healthy baby girl."

Nicki and I squealed at the same time.

I'm going to have a sweet baby niece to play with.

Nicki rushed the doctor so that we could get to the mall. A little girl would be the easiest to shop for.

Nicki's POV

A baby girl!! I couldn't wait to hit the stores. Rydel and I were going to own this one!

I was going to reveal to Rocky the sex of the baby by wrapping up baby clothes and giving it to him as a present. When he opened it, he would know what our child was.

Rydel and I found a cute little purple outfit with the words I love Daddy printed on the front. We had it wrapped in Christmas paper to fit the season.

As soon as we made it through the door, we were both calling for Rocky. He appeared slowly, my journal in his hand. He had a defeated look on his face.

Oh my gosh. Please no.

"I think we need to talk." He whispered.

Rydel had no idea what to say. She was the only person who didn't know that I had a secret. I put my arm around her shoulder to make her feel better. She could see in both of our faces that something was really wrong.

Five minutes later, Riker was strolling in. He took Rydel up to the baby's room while Rocky and I went downstairs. I stayed on one side while he paced to the other.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, tears already brimming in his eyes.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"YOU KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. YOU ARE DYING AREN'T YOU?"

I sat in silence, not ready to answer.

He knows.
