I Can't Loose You

Rocky's POV

She didn't move or speak. I knew that I was right. She was dying.

"How?" I asked with a quivering voice.

"I don't wanna go into all of that Rocky. I just want to celebrate our marriage and our baby."

I walked over to her slowly and wrapped my arms around her softly. I couldn't even cry. This didn't seen real to me.

"I have a present for you."

"What is it?"

She handed over a small wrapped box. I opened it to reveal a small purple baby outfit with the words I Love Daddy on the front. A single tear dropped from my eye.

"It's a girl." I whispered.

She smiled lightly and nodded her head. For a moment I forgot all of my toruble and pain.

I'll get to learn how to do her hair, play Barbies with her, dance with her, and everything that comes with having a baby girl.

I leaned down and kissed the top of Nicki's stomach.

"What are we going to name her?" I asked.

"I was thinking of naming her Riley." she smiled back.

"That's perfect." I said as I leaned in to kiss her.

Ross' POV

We are naming her Riley.

I looked down at my buzzing phone, shocked to find out that I was having a niece and her name would be Riley. Two huge piece of information and Nicki decided to text theem to me.

She must be too busy to call.

I smiled at the name. Riley was a cute name for what was bound to be a cute baby.

I texted my congrats and told Amanda. She made plans to visit Nicki that night. Everyone in the family had been acting strange, so maybe tonight we'd find out what was really going on.

At 6:00 p.m., Amanda and I walked into Nicki and Rocky's house, which to our surprise also held the rest of the family.

My stomach started to churn.

A family meeting.

We didn't have those unless something serious was going on. Dad ordered us all to settle down and listen to Nicki.

She stood up confidently, but I could see the nerves getting the best of her.

"I have news that I've been hiding, and I think that I need to tell everyone."

She sat in silence for a few seconds while she prepared herself.

"When I found out that I was pregnant with Riley, I also found out that I was in the early stages of a sickness. The doctors are not sure of what to call it, but basically, I'll be here long enough to have Riley, and then leave y'all peacefully."

I stopped breathing. Everyone did. Nicki just stood there as a flood of tears ran down her cheeks.

No. No. NO.

I stood up without thinking and looked her right in the eyes.

"You're NOT leaving us. You WILL fight. I'll make SURE you win." I growled.

She looked at me with hurt evident in her eyes.

"I-I'm so sorry Ross, I'll do everything I can, but the odds are highly against me."

"YOU CANNOT DIE." I screamed.

Everyone sat in silence, crying to themselves. Unsure of what to say.

Before I could stop myself, I pulled her tightly into my arms. I don't remember ever sobbing that hard in my life. I couldn't bear the thought that one day, she wouldn't be there. I couldn't make her laugh or pick on her. She would be gone. Forever.

I can't do this. I need her. Nicki don't die. Stay in my arms forever. I'll protect you there.
