Nicki's POV

I woke up to a crap-ton of text messages from Ross, and just one from Amanda. All of Ross' were trying to make sure I was okay, the baby was okay, but Amanda's said that she needed to meet with me ASAP.

What in the world is going on?

I texted Amanda back, asking her if she wanted to go to Starbucks with me. She agreed. As for Ross, I didn't respond. I assumed that whatever was wrong with him, Amanda would tell me.

I threw on some clothes and kissed Rocky as I walked out the door to my truck. The drive down the block seemed to take 10 years as I turned over Ross' interesting text messages in my mind. Did he talk to my doctor? Had he found out the bad news?

If he knows, I'm going to puke. Partly because morning sickness, and partly because he knows.

Amanda was already there, waiting for me with two coffee cups in her hand.

Mmmmm Pumkin Spice Latte. She knows me so well.

We walked to a table with two seats, and sat across from each other.

"How's baby Lynch?" she started.

"Still making me sick, but you know!" I joked.

"Maybe it's a boy, all of those Lynch boys make me sick everyday." she giggled.

We both burst out laughing in the dead quiet of Starbucks. We recieved quite a few glares, but we didn't care. They could get over it.

"Well, enough with the joking around. I agreed to meet you here because I needed to tell you a story."

"Is this about the abundance of text messages your lover sent me this morning?"

"It actually is! Look at you!"

"I try!" I winked.

"Ross had a dream last night. You were having baby Lynch and something went wrong, your heartrate sped up and the last thing he remembers is screaming your name before I woke him up. He woke me up screaming! It has him torn up, Nicki. He thinks that it's actually going to happen."

It took me a while to respond to that. I wasn't for sure what I was going to say. Why was Ross having dreams like that?

"Do I need to do anything? Talk to him? Tell him that it's going to be okay?" I asked.

"I don't think it'll help. The back of his shirt was drenched in sweat."

"I don't know what to do."

"I don't either. He's insiting on getting married before you have your baby. He doesn't think that you'll be around to see it."

He might just be right.

"Of course I'll be here! But if he wants to, and if it will make him feel better, we can do it before the baby comes."

"We need to do it quickly, because your stomach is already growing."

"I know."

"We can talk with Stormie, Maddie, and Rydel later. Do you think they'll be free this afternoon?"

"I'm sure! I'll text Maddie and Rydel if you want to text Stormie!"

"Okay. Oh, and I worried about you too. Dreams like that scare me. Especially when they seem so real."

"I promise I'll be okay. The doctors will take very good care of me."

"Good. Because none of us can survive without you."

You might need to learn.

"I'll always be around." I smiled.

Riker's  POV

I knew Nicki was hiding something, but for the life of me, I could not figure out what it was. Normally I can see right through her, but this time I couldn't.

Maddie was with Rydel, so I decided to hunt Nicki down and talk to her. I noticed her climbing into her truck when I passed Starbucks, so I called her.

"Hey, Rikey!" she teased.

"You and your nicknames. I called to ask you if you'll meet me at the flower field?"

"Where Rocky and I had our first kiss?"

"That's the place."

"Okay! I'll be there in a few!"

I hung up and pulled onto the side of the road. I walked down the path that lead me to the field.

5 minutes later, Nicki came strolling in, her tiny belly visible.

"Looks like baby is growing, huh?"

"Sure is! What's up?"

"What are you hiding from me?"

"What do you mean?"

"Nicki, i know something is wrong. Tell me what it is. I won't tell anyone. Not even Maddie."

"I can't." she admitted with tears welling up in her eyes.

"Yes you can."

"No, Riker. Please don't force me."

"I can't force you, but I can be pretty convincing."

"You wouldn't be able to handle it if I told you."

"I don't care. I need to know. You're my sister, remember? If something is wrong, I need to know. We promised that we would always tell each other everything. Rememeber, Nicki?"

"I do." she said as she cried.

"Just say something, Nicki. If you aren't going to tell me, at least just say something that will help."

"Don't forget to remember me." she chocked.

By then I was crying too.

"I'll always remember you."
