I'll Always Remember You

Reality

Riker's POV

I banged on Nicki and Rocky's door and waited patiently. Rocky opened the door slowly and stared at me.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Knocking on your door. What about you?"

"Shut up. Why are you here?"

"I request to take Nicki out. Not like out out but out to chill out! That was a lot of outs."

"Yeah it was, and sure I guess. Any reason why?"

"I just haven't done anything with her in a while. You and Maddie can meet up with us later. I think Maddie said she would come over and hang out with you since I stole her best friend."

"Okay. I'm fine with that. I'll text her."

"Okay."

Nicki trotted downstairs, already dressed with her hair and make-up done.

"Dang girl! That was fast! How did you do that?" I exclaimed.

"I heard you guys talking and I just threw something on. It's light make-up, May hair is in a ponytail, and I'm wearing leggings, boots, and a Hollister jacket. It's not like I'm wearing a cocktail dress." She replied.

"Well lets go, fashionista." I joked.

I watched her kiss Rocky softly and spin around quickly.

"Turn around." She demanded.

"What?" I asked.

"Turn around!"

I followed her orders and waited. Two seconds later she was on my back.

"Oh my gosh Nicki is this really nesessary? You've gotten heavy!"

"Don't argue wit the pregnant woman. Or call her fat. Now off to the car personal pack mule."

I chuckled as I walked off with her on my back.

Only Nicki.

I sat her in the car and drove off.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"First, we are going to a quiet place. Somewhere that you and I both can think."

"Oh thank goodness. I need that."

"So do I, but we are going to think out loud."

"Doesn't bother me."

"Good."

We pulled into the flower field a few minute later, and got out to sit down. This place held significant meaning to Nicki. Some of her most important life events had occurred here. Later, this place would become my Safe Haven, just like hers had.

"Can I tell you something that has bothered me since my wedding day?" She whispered.

"Yeah."

"Amanda is going to get to have her Dad walk her down the isle, her mom to help her get ready, Rydel is going to have that one day too. Maddie had it, but I never did. I know it sounds stupid, but that bothered me more than I expected it to." She confessed.

"I noticed that, but don't worry, I notice things about you and Maddie that others don't."

"Good. That's one thing I've always need to tell someone."

"What else do you need to tell someone?" I asked as I looked over at her.

"That I don't want anyone to be sad when I'm gone. I want you to continue living your lives happily, and Riker?"

"What?" I asked as I tried to hold it together.

"I want you to visit Rocky everyday and check on him and Riley. He's going to need his big brothers support, and I want Riley to know that she can have to same relationship with Uncle Riker, just like her mama did."

A single tear ran down my cheek.

"Riley can come over and have sleepovers with Maddie. I don't know what our first child will be, but if it's a girl they can hang out. If it's a boy they can do the same. Nicki I know that Maddie will do everything for Riley, just like she would for you. I just hope she doesn't look like you. Not that you aren't pretty, but I don't want to see Riley running around and almost loose it."

Her eyes were flooded with tears.

"Don't tell Ross, but please don't take her around him much, Amanda can see her, but I don't want Ross to freak out every time he sees her. Did you see what he did at the family meeting the other night?"

"Yeah. I know for a fact that he's in love with Amanda, he can't stay away from her, but you'll always hold a special place in his heart, and I think seeing Riley would hurt."

"I know." She sighed.

I scooted over to her and gave her a big hug.

"Please promise that you'll fight. I don't want you to leave. Maddie doesn't either. She's cried every night since she found out. It takes all of my energy not to cry with her. I stay strong for her though."

"I will fight. I don't want to loose y'all."

We at there silently for a while.

"I wonder what Rocky and Maddie are doing?" Nicki asked.

"I don't know."

Rocky's POV

"How's everyone holding up?" Maddie asked.

"As good as we can."

"That's good. What do you wanna do?"

"I'm starved. Wanna go eat?"

"That sounds great!"

Ten minutes later we were eating In-N-Out.

"I love eating this." Maddie commented.

"I know. It's so good."

"Riker and I take small dates here all the time."

"Really? That sounds fun. I should bring Nicki."

"You should. I'm sure Riley would like it too!" She joked.

I chuckled. I understood why Riker had fallen so hard for her. It was for the same reasons I had with Nicki. She was funny, beautiful, and just fun to be around. The only difference was that she had blonde hair and Nicki had brown. Riker had always liked blondes, where as I had preferred brunettes.

"So Riker tells me that you like Thor."

"Oh my gosh he's great! Nicki and I watch it all the time! We also watch Captain America a lot. She loves him."

"Well who doesn't? I mean he's awesome and Chris Evans plays him!"

"I had a feeling that was one reason you two liked it so much. Let me guess, you have a thing for Chris Hemsworth too right?"

"DUH! Every girl does! Your wife drools over him!" She teased.

"Oh really? Do you have more dirty secrets about her?"

"Yes, but I'm not going to tell you them."

"What if I make you?"

"How do you plan to do that?"

"I have my ways."

"You really aren't that bad Rocky."

"You aren't either Maddie."

"I feel safe with you. Like I could tell you anything and you'd be there to listen."

"Riker and I are a lot alike. That's the relationship him and Nicki have."

"Maybe we could too."

I smiled. I liked that idea.

"I'm down with that."

"Let's go chill at Riker and I's house shall we?"

"Let's do it!"
