Killian POV:
I woke up again after sleeping. I tried getting up but two strong hands were tightly wrapped around me. I momentarily freaked out until I realized it was just Lucca that was holding me. He was warm and I didn't struggle anymore. I did need to go pee so I grabbed his shoulder and shook him.
After the third attempt of trying to wake him, he finally let go.
I got up to only realize there was no bathroom here. I ran towards the entrance and pushed some branches aside making a ruckus. Once I finally got outside and found the nearest tree to my left, I ran as quickly as possible and finally released my urging bladder. After I finished, I turned around only to find Lucca looking at me. I felt my heart beat really fast and my face now hot. I looked away. What is this feeling?
I walked towards him trying not to make eye contact, but he just burst out laughing at me. That made me turn extremely red. I shoved him and he fell backwards still laughing. I ran as fast as I could back inside hiding in the sleeping bag.
That reminds me he hasn't told me why he thinks he killed my family.
I peeked out of the sleeping bag and saw Lucca staring at me smiling before frowning again.
We got to talk.
I sat up and waited for him to continue.
"Like I was saying yesterday, when I went to go hunt for food, I found a deer" He said pretty fast.
"While I was trying to catch it, it spotted me and ran" he continued.
"It was the first time in years that I've seen a deer here in the woods so I chased after it. The deer was getting closer to the roads so I forced it to change directions. It ran alongside the roads, so I decide to take a shortcut and I was about to catch it when it decided to run off to the roads. A little bit after it escaped I heard the accident." He said ending it with a long exhale.
"So that horse looking thing was a deer?" I mumbled to my self.
I didn't know how to feel about this. I'm sad my Momma, Daddy, and Katya aren't here but I know there in a better place. At least that's what Momma used to say when people in our pack died.
Lucca looked sad like really sad. I can at least say I don't blame him for the accident.
It made me angry thinking that, because of this, he looked sad. He shouldn't be sad, it's going to be okay, right? One day I'll see my family, just not now but in the future.
"It's not your fault, that deer killed my parents" I finally said.
"Don't you get it, if it wasn't for me the deer wouldn't have been in the road in the first place!" he said bearing his teeth.
"But... I don-" I started saying
"No Buts!" He yelled out
I didn't like him screaming at me so I ran outside running away from him. He was running behind me trying to catch up. For a kid I ran fast. I immediately stopped when I sensed another wolf near me. I switched directions and ran the opposite way from the wolf. I was stopped again by a wolf but this one was now in front of me growling at me. Rouge. I no longer moved. I was scared. I wanted to move backwards but my body didn't let me.
Lucca jumped in front of me and took a protective stand. The rouge lashed out and jumped on Lucca, but Lucca shifted and bit the wolf on its neck and I heard a loud crunch sound. I could feel the wolf no longer there in this world anymore. I should've asked him to tell Momma, Daddy, and Katya that I'm okay.
Lucca suddenly grabbed me and I was straddled on his waist as he walked. I was still angry at him but not for the reasons he thinks why. I hit his chest, kicked his back, bit his shoulder, and scratched his face. All of which were pointless because he healed fast.
"Look I know your angry because I killed your fam-" he started before I slapped him across his face. He stopped walking and look at me like I was crazy.
"ITS NOT YOUR FAULT!! OKAY?" I screamed out.
The message looked like it registered in his head. He put his head on my shoulder and cried which made me cry. I know I won't be able to see my family any more but I have Lucca now. We stood in the woods for quite some time crying because the sun was making its way to go down.
Let's go home. I heard Lucca say.
Home. I said gladly.
