"...This is the first day of the rest of our lives. The start of our future of becoming succesful adults. I've had the best four years of my life here at Stevenson High. To the Class of 2014!" The valedictorian of our class shouted into the microphone. All at once, everyone threw their caps up into the air and jumped up and down. Some people crying like me and others ecstatic as could be. I had my arms wrapped around Marley and Danielle. Somehow, Marley got rid of her attitude from a while ago and now all three of us are alright. 

"Finally! Yes we are out of here!" Danielle screamed and dramatically flew her arms out towards the sky.

"I'm gonna miss you guys so much! College...we're gonna hang out still." Marley added. 

"We won't drift apart...I promise you guys." We all hugged again and right when we released, I saw Logan right by my side. I wiped a tear from the corner of my eye and smiled from ear to ear. 

"Congratulations you guys!" He said and hugged both Marley and Danielle. Then moving on to me. 

He whispered into my ear while we my head was nuzzled into his chest. "Congrats babe. I love you." I hugged him even tighter, not feeling the need to respond with words. We released our grips from each other and my mom an dad were both next to us. Mom AND dad. What is he doing here? I wiped another tear away and took a step closer to my mom, hugging her tightly and pulling away a few seconds later. 

"Hope, congrats!" My father said, embracing me with an awkward hug. "I was hoping we all could go out to lunch. To catch up with you and your mother and friends....and boyfriend." He finished.

"Yeah, of course." I smiled and turned back around to Logan, Dani and Marley. 

"Do you guys want to get lunch?" I asked all of them.

They all nodded their heads so I took that as a yes and we all continued to talk to our other graduating friends. Everyone was being so nice and happy. The weather was beautiful too.

We were all split up in cars- my mom and dad in one, Marley, Danielle, Logan and I in another and Marley and Dani's parents and families were coming too. The place we decided to go to wasn't too busy. It was a small cafe where the girls and I have been going to for a long time. 

At one point when all of our conversations dulled, my dad reached out across the table and shook Logan's hand. "It's nice to meet you." He said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too." Logan flashed a smile and shook his hand back. 

"I hope you're taking great care of my daughter." He smiled. Even though he's never around I like that he's being protective and showing a care for me. I smiled and listened to them talk. They joked around and then my dad started telling stories about me when I was younger.

"Oh and when she was younger, she used to always listen to that boy band... forgot the name but she had their posters all over her room. Wore one of their t-shirts every day...and on her 12th birthday I got her tickets for her and her friend to go to one of their concerts and she started crying like crazy from happiness. Oh my goodness it was hilarious." He exclaimed.

Logan was laughing and I could feel my cheeks burning with redness. My lips formed into a smile though. His hand trailed up and down my back, comforting me. He kissed me on the cheek and then whispered. "Don't be embarrassed...it's adorable." I smiled even bigger and hugged him lightly. 

Soon enough we all finished eating and talking. My mom and dad left and Dani and Marley went back to their houses. We made plans to meet up later but Logan and I stayed to talk for a little while. We were the only ones in there...I guess the time slipped up on us because the sun was starting to set. 

We both were laughing so hard that tears were falling out of our eyes. Our hands were wrapped around each others across the table and our eyes were staring into each others. I heard the bells of the door to the cafe ring which startled me. Nobody has been in here for hours. My eyes broke the stare from Logan's and then looked up at the door. I squeezed Logan's hands without thinking and then stopped. 

"Hope..." The figure at the door started to say. 

"Why are you here, Cade?" I asked harshly, glaring at him.

"Cade? So this is the asshole who you were telling me about." Logan said while getting up from his chair. "This is the asshole who almost raped you." 

I stayed silent...only looking up and changing my gaze at each of them. "Stop...don't get angry." I started to tell Logan but he didn't listen. 

"You better leave or things are going to get ugly." Logan said, clenching his fists and jaw. "This is my girlfriend and I need you to stay the hell away from her or there is going to be a restraining order put into place and also a serious beating from me." He said, furiously.

"Listen, man, I didn't do anything to her. Just ask her...right Hope?" Cade started. 

"First of all, don't call me 'man' and second, I thought i told you to stay away from her." At this point, Logan was standing up straight right in front of Cade. His chest puffed out and arms flexed wide. "Stay away." 

Cade threw a punch at Logan and hit him right in the jaw. Thats when Logan tackled him and started punching him while pinning him down. They both started wrestling, rolling around on the floor until I yelled. 

"Stop it! You both honestly think this is going to solve anything?! Think again because you both look like idiots right now." I said before I stormed out of the store, letting the door bell chime. I made my way down the street and could hardly see through the tears  mixed with eye makeup blurring my vision. I crossed the street, nearly getting hit by a biker but I didn't even care. Then I got to the park and sat down on one of the benches, thinking about everything. My sobs got louder and my tears started flowing faster. My head started throbbing and I started seeing stars. Talk about a horrible headache...and soon enough I didn't remember anything else but someone shaking me and opening my eyes to see the outside the sunroof of some type of vehicle.
