Departure

______________________________

"Can you help me with this?" I looked down at Logan, laughed and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. He was laying on the floor of my room waiting for me to finish packing.

He stood up and walked over to my right, placing a hand around my waist and kissing my temple. He released his hand and wrapped his fingers around the zipper handle, closing it almost effortlessly. He let go and smirked at me. I looked up at him and crossed my arms.

"How." I said, trying to hold back a smile.

"It's all in the wrist." he replied with a soft smile. I pressed my hand against his and brought it up towards the ceiling.

"Your hands are huge." I say.

"Your hands are tiny." he replies. The tips of my fingers only reach about halfway up his fingers. He curls his over mine and then squeezes my hand gently. His hands are warm. I smile as he takes my other hand and holds it in his other hand.

"Is that all you needed to pack?" he asks while looking down into my eyes. Gosh, his eyes are almost hypnotizing. The blue with small details of green shining in the light pouring through my bedroom window shades.

"That's all." I say and hug him. "Let's go." We let go of each other's hands and walk downstairs holding our own luggage.

I see Daniel downstairs sitting on the couch. I can tell he can hear our footsteps because his head turns in Logan and I's direction once we reach the bottom of the steps. Let's see if he challenges Logan again.

"You guys are leaving?" He asks, as if he didn't know.

I roll my eyes. "Yes, we are leaving soon," I smile and walk toward him. "As if you didn't know." I give him a tight hug and feel his arms squeeze back.

"Be smart." He says and ruffles my hair and then grins.

"Hey!" I laugh and run my fingers through my hair. He starts to laugh too.

"Love you, little sister." he winks.

"Love you too, big brother." I stick my tongue out. No matter how old we get, or how long we stay at college, we will always act like four year olds to each other.

My mom walks in the room and looks down at my luggage. "Oh, you always pack light." With a large hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Hey, I need clothes!" I say, defending myself with a smile.

Daniel walks behind me and picks up my bag and walks out the door, carrying it to Logan's car.

"Someone's in a rush for you to leave." My dad says. "You'd think he'd want you to stay since he just got back." he says, confused.

"Oh he's okay. I just talked to him and we're good. He's not mad or sad, I think he just wants to help bring our things to the car." I assure him.

We all say our goodbyes and hug and laugh. Logan throws in a couple of jokes here and there, and my parents seem to like him even more and more. Daniel hugs me once again and then hugs Logan. For even longer than he hugged me.

"Wow, okay I see how this is, Dan. You love my boyfriend more than you love your own sister!" I pretend to be jealous. He comes over and picks me up, hugging me tighter than ever before. When he puts me down I catch my breath and balance, smiling even bigger than before. I manage a laugh and we all make our way out to the car.

"We love you." My mom says and blows me a kiss.

"Have fun." My dad says and waves.

"Don't have too much fun without me!" Daniel says and smirks.

"I promise I won't, I promise!" I laugh and close the car door.

***********************************************

When we reach the airport Logan hands me a pair of sunglasses and we step out of the car, making our way through the dim parking garage. The lights of the airport are bright even with these sunglasses on. I pull my suitcase and listen to it's wheels pop on the cracks of the floor tiles. Suddenly I realize that there are flashing lights and deep male voices surrounding Logan and I. I feel his hand wrap around my waist and I keep my head down, avoiding eye contact with the cameras.

"Logan! Logan! Here-"

"Logan to your left!"

"Who's the girl?!"

"What's your name?!"

Constant questions like that were flying at us until we got to the security line and they were escorted out of the way. I took a deep breath and lifted my sunglasses up from my eyes.

"Hey, you just had your first paparazzi encounter!" His eyes light up as if we won something.

"Wha?" I manage to blurt out.

"Oh god are you okay?" He plants his hands on my shoulders. "Did they hurt you or anything?" He eyes me up and down, checking and they are filled with concern when they reach mine again.

"Ye- yeah I'm fine. Just a lot of lights and...yeah." I say nodding my head.

"okay...you sure?" I nod. he kisses my forehead lightly and then we move up in the security line. We finally reach the end of the line. Going through x-Ray scanners and putting our shoes back on at the end.

We stopped at Starbucks and then took seats at the terminal where our flight boards. I'm reading my book while Logan tweets from his phone. I reach over and hold his hand. He smiles and we both look up at each other. I hear whispers to the side so I glance over. There are two teenage girls who can't be more than 3 years younger than me staring straight at me. One scans her eyes over me and the other whispers something into her ear. They both laugh and I turn my head and just ignore them. They must be fans of Logan.

"Flight to Los Angeles, California. Group A. Please board the plane at this time." A woman's voice calls through the speakers.

"That's us." Logan says and we both stand up, making our way to the line. I decided to walk past the two girls. I make sure I go by close enough to roll over one of their feet.

"Ow!" One of them squeals.

I stop in my tracks and look back over my shoulder. "Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see you there." And kept walking.

I meet Logan in the line and he smiles while reaching for my hand. "What was that?" he asks while smiling and massaging circles onto the back of my hand.

"Oh, nothing." I smile and kiss him. Holding it longer than usual. I pull away and glance at the two girls. They're giving me the death glare so I smile straight at them and turn around, handing my ticket to the flight attendant and walking onto the plane hand in hand with Logan.
