After the announcement at the town square, Max, Bonnie and Clemont decided to go to that same coffee shop where Max and May had met Bonnie for the first time. May said that she wanted to have dinner there since she was already there, and Bonnie loves their pasta anyway.
They entered the coffee shop and saw May sitting alone. They approached her and took their seat.
"Wow. There's not much people here at this hour. It's quite a surprise." Clemont said.
"The townsfolk here usually go to their homes for dinner. It's uncommon to see anyone eat outside." May replied.
"How did you know that?" Max asked.
"Iris told me that." May replied as she pointed to the purple-haired barista.
"Wow. You actually made friends here?" Max joked. "That's a first since...never mind."
May sighed. "I was lonely, okay? I didn't like being alone, so I came here. In fact, after breakfast, I decided to have a little chat with Clarise. She told me some folklores and stuff about the town. After that, I came here for some lunch and I hadn't left since. Luckily, Iris was nice enough to let me stay. There weren't a lot of people anyway because they had to go to the town square for some whatever."
"Wow...the last time you didn't want to be alone was when...never mind." Max said. "What's gotten into you?"
"I-it's nothing, Max." May stuttered. "It just got a really lonely at the boarding house, you know. By the way, I appreciate the breakfast, Clemont and Bonnie. But Max, you could have at least given some coffee." She suddenly sassed.
"I'm sorry. I thought someone like you wouldn't settle for a 3-in-1 instant coffee." Max replied.
Iris then approached them and took out her notepad.
"Miss May, I'm sorry. I didn't notice your friends were already here. My friend kept on rambling and ranting. What would you guys like to order?" Iris asked.
"It's fine, Iris." May replied. "Anyway...we'll have 4 orders of your Pasta Bolognese plus iced tea."
"Okay then." Iris said as she jotted the order on the notepad. "Be right back."
"I still don't get you, May." Max said.
"What did I do now?" May asked in an annoyed tone.
"You could have totally left for a summer paradise, and yet you decided to stay here." Max said.
"Because I worry about you, Max." May answered.
"Yeah right. Since when did you worry about me?" Max asked.
"Since I was forced to do so." May retorted.
"Well...at least I know you won't get yourself into trouble. Or...is this all a ploy?" Max interrogated as he pointed to her.
"Max, I hope you know it's not gentleman-like to point at someone like that. Jeez. No wonder you don't have a girlfriend." May sassed.
Max blushed and fell silent. He looked at Bonnie and Clemont and saw that they were chuckling.
May noticed this and she smirked. "I mean...Bonnie, would you date a boy who kept on pointing fingers at you?"
Max looked at her with his jaw nearly on the ground.
"U-um." Bonnie stuttered.
"Um...don't you think Bonnie is still too young for questions like that?" Clemont asked.
"How old is she?" May asked.
"14." Clemont answered.
"15 in a few months." Bonnie added.
