I pulled my hoodie over my head, struggling to keep the previous layers hidden beneath. This night was cold and I hate the cold, so if putting on 2 t-shirts, a sweater and a hoodie would keep me warm then so be it! I wasn't taking any chances.
There was a violent chorus of beeps from outside my house, I yelled bye to my mum and grabbed my beanie before jogging out to the street only to see my best friend Georgia and her brother Chandler in the car behind. Did I mention Chandlers really hot!
I walked up to Georgia's window and she rolled it down to talk.
"Max, jess and Cai are in here, chandler said he'd take ya!" She wiggled her eyebrows cheekily. I rolled my eyes back at her and ran up to chandlers nearly empty car.
Georgia had been trying to get the two of us together for ages, so much so that we were actually pretty good friends.
He leaned across and popped open the door.
"Hey y/n"
"Hi Chan, how you doing?"
"I'm good thanks, you excited?"
"Sure. I mean I'm not that good with fire tho!"
"I'll protect you!" He joked and we pulled into the road.
We small talked for the 15 minute drive into the countryside and we were finally reunited with the others.
"Y/n!!!" Georgia raced to hug me.
"Hey its only been 20 minutes"
"I missed you still!"
I shrugged her off and we all trudged into the field where a few of our friends had already congregated round the blazing bonfire. Chandler came and walked alongside us and Georgia once again wiggled her brows and elbowed me lightly.
"Uh guys I have to find someone"
"What?" I asked, knowing her intentions. "No you don't!"
"Yep I really do."
"Bye then" chandler called urgently.
I blushed a little that he pushed her away from the two of us.
"Y/n you wanna drink?"
"Please"
"Okay I'll be right back!"
He jogged over to some boys from his year and I went to get warm by the fire.
As I slowly heated up, some girls from my year came up to me. I didn't like them all too much, they were really two faced.
"Hi y/n!" They squealed.
"Hi" I replied drearily.
"You can't be here alone...are you?"
"Uh no, Georgia's here"
"Oh her."
"And um... Chandler as well"
I regretted mentioning him, because as I did they went into a panicked frenzy of hair checking and applying make up.
"Hey Chan!" They cooed. I rolled my eyes at their air head ways.
"Oh hi" he replied a little confused. "Here y/n" he handed me my drink and put him arm over my shoulder like he usually does. The girls instantly glared at me but I just shook it off.
"Girls, do you mind I kinda need to talk to y/n"
The three brats agreed sweetly before whispering as they sloped off making sure they still had the two of us in sight.
"Is everything okay?" I asked
"Yeah yeah I was just talking to Georgia and she said that yo--"
"Whatever it is ignore her!"
"Oh well she said that I should ask you out, because we're really close anyway."
"She's been saying the same to me too she's mental"
I was embarrassed but sad that he didn't know the truth.
"Oh well thing is, I was up for the idea but if you don't like me that way that's fine."
"Chandler I didn't know."
"Yeah I've liked you for quite some time actually. I asked Georgia to drop some hints and find out if you liked me but I guess you don't... I'm sorry for wasting your time"
He disappeared into the dark night and I mentally slapped myself for not stopping him and telling him how I felt.
~
I searched everywhere for him, even got Georgia doing the same.
"Lost someone?"
"Grey! Have you seen chandler anywhere?"
"Why what's up"
"I just need to find him"
"He came by grabbed a load of drinks seemed upset but I haven't seen him since."
"Shit!"
"Y/n!" Georgia came racing up to me.
"What is it?"
"One of those bitches said their friends got in hiss car and they drove off together"
"Georgia, Jake said he's been drinking. Shit this is all my fault!"
"No its gonna be okay, come on I haven't drunk anything we'll go find him"
I was shaking and could barely breath when we got in the car, I'd sprinted all the way across the field. The engine started and we raced through the windy roads. I breathed a massive sigh of relief when I saw chandlers car pulled into a lay by.
We parked across the road and got out. I could see clear enough from my side. One of the girls had arms around his neck, kissing him deeply.
I couldn't move.
I couldn't comprehend.
I couldn't take a single breath.
I walked over step by step.
He looked up and pulled away from her. She looked confused and laughed when she saw me, and tried to re attach herself to him but he shoved her away in disgust.
I didn't hear Georgia scream. I let a single tear run down my face.
I saw Chandler shouting but couldn't hear him. I didn't see the headlights or hear the beeps from the car.

I didn't feel instant pain. It just happened, and then... Black.
