I was nervous all week. But nothing compared to how I felt now, stood amongst the towering buildings of the city. My sister had signed me up without telling me, and I sort of had a random sense of 'fuck it' and agreed to do it once she told me I'd got a place. I'd only ever had photos taken of me by my sister, college assignments or holidays memory ones. But she must've thought thy were good enough to send in to a modelling agency.

I checked the time on my phone, the background of my best friend flashing up encouragingly. 2:53. I was a little early, but not at fault! Better to be early I guess.

I swallowed my fear in one gulp and heaved one foot in front of the other into the lift, shakily reaching out to press the button for the 13th floor. 13... Bad luck! Brilliant. I kept my breathing as steady as I could in a small metal box, watching the numbers count up before me.

As the little chime rang and the doors opened, a well dressed receptionist looked up from her desk. The whole waiting area was extremely silent and full of tension, even though it was only the two of us. I expected more, honestly.

She smiled and I told her my details, she nodded and I took a seat, wringing my sweating hands together. She picked up the phone and uttered a few inaudible words down the line. I watched her intently and she soon caught my gaze, putting the phone down after finishing the conversation.
"Mr Riggs is through that door."

Mr Riggs sounds professional.

I got to my feet and walked through a black door straight into a white room. There was a whole wall of windows overlooking the city skyline and a big table taking up the majority of the floor.

He sat at the end of the table, frantically sorting through papers. His gaze switched to me when he was made aware of my presence. He was younger than I thought, probably about my age. He wasn't a typical photographer either, had long hair and deep brown eyes.

"Please Miss y/l/n. Take a seat" he motioned towards a chair nearby where he perched eagerly.
I sat stiff and nerves rushed through my veins like blood.

We spoke for a while about what he wanted from a model. He seemed nice and I found out he was pretty new to the business too. That definitely relaxed me a tad!

The photos turned out well and he gave me a few print outs to take home with me. I left him with my number in case he needed me again and I left.

Two days later I got a text.
This ones my favourite, I'd love to catch up with you sometime. Not about work though.
