"Where have you been?" A shrill voice spoke from thee dark.
"Dan? I thought you were asleep."

His body shifted in the bed to look at me.
"And I thought you were only going to Sarah's"
I sighed. "Not this again. Please" I begged. He questioned me time after time.

He flicked on the bedside lamp and I caught my reflection in the mirror across the room. I looked rough.
"So?" His tone was dull and empty.
"What's the point, you wouldn't believe me anyways."
"Oh no. Go on y/n what's your excuse for me this time."
"This is what I mean. You don't try to understand. I'm sick of it."
"You're sick huh?"

I shifted my feet. "Yes. I am. And frankly I'm sick of everything to do with you, you're a waste of my time Daniel."
He sat silent for a while. Choking on his words. I could see it he was fighting with his throat, he couldn't speak anymore.

"I'm sick of being accused, being lied to, you go off filming everyday. Then come home just to bite my head off at every single flaw of mine. When will you learn that I need to be treated better."

I stared him down.

"Nothing?" I asked. "Well, if you won't fight for me. This will be a lot easier to do"

I walked back out into the hall, checked my hair in the mirror and left. My bag gripped in my fist.
I flung it into my car and drove away.

He needed to learn about consequences and how people get hurt by words. I had nothing to do now. Sarah had turned up early at my work, got drunk and I left her back at her house safely.

Work. Overtime can take my mind off things anyway.

I pushed the door open, the regulars recognising me. Waving messily. I slung my bag over shoulder and made my way behind the bar.

"Y/n?" I turned to the familiar voice of my co-worker Chandler.
"Oh hi"
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Me and Dan got in another fight" I sighed.
"Again?" His tone implied was bored of my petty arguments.
"No. This time I've left him for good. I can't handle him anymore, it's over"
He suddenly looked concerned at my problems.
"I'm sorry" he said sincerely.
"No really, it's my bad taste in men" I said trying to force a laugh.

I wiped the bar in silence, we would be shutting soon and I could do with a pint in peace.
"I'll usher the usuals out" Chandler stated.
"I'll do it" I spoke up. "You've worked enough already." He gave in and I pried the last few people off their drinks.

I cleared up and went into the back to see chandler still stood there.
"You can go" I said "it's late, I'll lock up".
"I'll stay for a bit, got nothing better to do."
"Thanks" although I didn't want it, I needed the company deep down.

"So where are you staying tonight?" He asked casually.
"My car probably. Until I find somewhere better" I groaned a little but knew it was better than my other option.
"I have a sofa bed at my place, you can crash there if you like."
"Thanks but I'll be fine."
"No y/n, I hate the thought of you freezing to death in that car."
"One night, that's it" I said sternly.
He smiled.

I locked up the bar and walked to my car. "Need a ride?" I asked.
"My house please" he joked
"Fine, but you're directing me."

Thoughts rushed through my head as I tried to sleep. I was uncomfortable in my own head and mind. I began to sob silently as I thought of Dan, all the things he'd say to me.

"Y/n?" I held my breath hoping he would hear me if I stopped. But that only made him check if I was alive.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He pulled me into a hug and I didn't try to move. I let him comfort me.
"He always hated me, I knew it but just couldn't bring myself to believe it"

"Forget him" chan's voice was relaxed and soft. "Can't sleep?" He asked.
"I could like this" I admitted, his arms rocked me gently.

"Here" he stood up and took my hand. I let him lead me through his apartment into his room.

He settled me in his bed and quietly got in next to me. I felt safe next to him so I inched closer. He reached out and pulled me into his body. I nestled my head into neck.

Through the tears I hadn't noticed the lack of shirt, but I didn't care anymore. I just let myself coil into his chest.
"Chan-" I started but was cut off.
"Y/n?" I hummed in response. "Y/n... I love you"
I leet out a sigh of relief. All this time Dan had been right about something. I did always have a thing for the barman.

I looked up, the little bit of light illuminating his eyes. I bit my lip and took a risk. I held his neck and kissed his lips. My heart raced and I could hear it beat in my head. He pulled me closer and deepened the kiss hungrily. I held his head and smiled, happy that it all went well in the end.

(Sorry for the awful ending. I am open for requests so please feel free to send me any.)
