Chapter V

*Spencer's POV*

"What movie next?" Jonny smiles down at me. Being wrapped in his arms is the most comforting feeling.

"I need to go," I say quietly, wishing I didn't have to.

"Why?" He frowns, tightening his arms around me. His eyes light up when he looks at me and I feel so lucky to have him.

"Because it's midnight and I have classes tomorrow" I smile.

"Okay then," he pouts, giving me a soft kiss on the lips.

I get up off the sofa and grab my jacket from the coat hanger.

"See you later?" I ask when I get to the door.

"Of course," he smirks, blowing me a kiss across the room.

After me argument with Melissa I went to Jonny's house and we watched movies all night.

I like Jonny, a lot, and we've only been going out for six months. It took me forever to find a guy after what happened with Toby.

Stop it Spencer. Your not allowed to think about that anymore. Your over him.

I quickly jump into my car and head to my small apartment.

There are two cop cars parked outside my building. What the hell?

I rum inside and up the stairs to my apartment where there are two officers chapping on my door.

"Excuse me? Can I help you?" I ask in a worrying tone.

"Is this your apartment?" One of the men ask. His badge has the name 'Lorenzo' printed on it and I definitely recognise him.

"Yes. What is going on?" I ask, panic starting to creep into my already worried self. If someone's broke into my apartment.

"I would like to ask you a few questions" his tone is very serious and that's not a good sign.

"Yeah sure," I say, opening the door to my small home. "Please, come in," I say, opening the door for him to enter.

Lorenzo whispers something in the other cops ear and the man nods before walking down the corridor.

"He's just away to get my partner" he informs me before entering.

"Okay, do you want some coffee?" I ask awkwardly. I have no idea how to act with a cop in my house.

"No thanks" he chuckles. He turns his head to the door as I walk around to take a seat on my couch. "There he is!" He exclaims.

I turn my head around to see Toby standing in my doorway. Oh no. You've got to be kidding me.

"Sorry, man. I was just talking to Tanner," Toby explains. I don't think he realises that he's in my apartment.

"It's okay," Lorenzo smiles before turning his head back to me. That's when Toby looks up and sees me. His eyes go wide and I can see him thinking over something with concern behind his ocean blue eyes.

He quickly recovers and smiles at me before taking a seat next to Lorenzo.

"So, what's happened?" I ask. I try to keep my gaze on Lorenzo as Toby takes his officers hat off and fixes his hair.

"There has been a number of break ins over the past month," he informs me. I already knew that but I just nod my head. "And tonight someone tried to set fire to the apartment next door," he states.

"Did you catch the person?" I ask. So many people have tried this before that it's not even that big of a deal to me.

"No," he answers. Toby sits awkwardly on my sofa fidgeting with his hands. He's so cute. No. stop it Spencer.

"Okay then," I say, not really knowing what to do.

"Do you know anyone who would try to do this?" He asks. Toby looks up from his hands. Our eyes meet and I can't look away.

His crystal blue eyes are looking right at me.

"No," I say, taking my attention away from my ex boyfriend.

"Okay then, that's all" Lorenzo nods, standing to his feet and walking towards the door. "We will tell you if anything is found" he says before opening the door and disappearing down the hall.
