*Spencer's POV*

I'm woken up by a knock on my door. I hop out of bed, hoping it's Toby.

I quickly shove on a baggy t-shirt and run to the door. There is another knock as I get to the door.

"I'm coming," I shout, grabbing the key from the table and unlocking the door.

I open the door and standing there is Jonny. He looks at me with the baggy shirt on and steps in.

"Hey, what are you wearing?" He asks, taking a seat on the sofa.

"I'm just out my bed," I say, a little to defensively. His eyes widen, taken back.

"Sorry, just asking," he mumbles, grabbing the remote and turning the TV on.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, feeling uncomfortable with the way he feels welcome in my home.

"Your mom suggest I stop by," he remarks. He keeps his eyes on the TV as I roll my eyes.

"When were you talking to her?" I ask. I can't believe it. My mom has always liked Jonny better than me.

"Just this morning, popped by to speak to her," he says, in a very causal tone.

"You speak to my mom more than I do," I state. He looks over at me and walks over.

"She phoned me to ask me a question," he says softly, kneeling down so he is sitting in front of me.

"What did she have to ask?" I question. He takes a deep breath.

"She was wondering if you had been spending time with Toby Cavanaugh recently," he sighs. "I told her that we went to dinner with his girlfriend,"

"I can't believe this! Why doesn't she like Toby? What is the big deal if I do spend time with him?" I ask, standing from the sofa.

"Look, don't get mad. She just wants to make sure your safe," he replies calmly.

"Why? Is Toby some sort of mass murderer that she wants me to stay away from?" I ask. Jonny stills and I can see him fight a battle within himself.

"Why are you so defensive of him?" He notices. "You seem awfully close to him,"

"We have just been catching up. I've not spoken to him in years because my mom has warned me not to!" I shout. "But I don't understand. Families are supposed to be happy when their children find love!" I scream. Oh no. Shit.

"You love him?" Jonny gapes. He looks hurt or angry, I can't tell.

"Jonny, your a great guy but you seem closer to my mom than to me," I softly reply. "Then you were flirting with Yvonne two nights ago when I was right next to you,"

"Don't. I can't believe this! I was flirting? I was making conversation while you and Toby were grinding on each other on the dance floor!" He shouts, walking to the door.

"You be careful with that guy. He has a secret, and if the police catch him, he's dead," he grimaces, slamming the door shut on his way out.
