*Spencer's POV*
This week has flew by and before I know it Saturday arrives, the day of the ball.
I met Toby's mom this morning to go shopping for the perfect dress. She took me to lunch is a very classy cafe and now, as I try on multiple dresses, she tells me what she calls 'family gossip'.
"It's the biggest charity event of the year! There will be a red carpet and everything!" She exclaims from outside the dressing room curtain.
I am trying to squeeze into a dress that is a size to small. Marion insisted that I could fit into it but I don't think I will and if I do, I won't be able to get it off.
"Wow. It's a big deal," I reply, finally getting the dress in properly.
"Yes, and Toby hates going. Every year he complains that he doesn't belong in a room full of snobby, preppy people," she rambles. One thing I've learned about Toby's mom is she talks a lot.
"He's only going because of you," she says, her time sounding grateful?
"I think I'm ready," I shout, fixing the dress slightly before pulling the curtain back.
Marion looks at me and I swear her jaw nearly hits the floor.
The dress is a dark blue/green colour and it is right around my body, showing off the curves I have. It has a silky feel to it and shines very slightly in the light. I've never wore a dress this tight.
"You look amazing!" She remarks, putting her hands into the air. "Let's get this one," she nods.
"Are you sure? I mean I think-"
"No, this is perfect for you. You looking stunning," she compliments, pushing me back into the dressing room and closing the curtain.
"You get changed, I'll go pay," she yells before walking to the till.
I struggle to get the dress off but I do eventually and when I finally have my clothes back on Marion is waiting on me at the door.
I smile at her and head towards the exit.
"Lets go, dear. Need to get you to your makeup appointment," she grins. I can tell she is loving this.
I nod and start to walk behind her to her car. For a middle-aged woman she walks exceptionally fast.
My phone buzzes with a text from Toby. He has been texting me every hour to make sure his mom hasn't drove me crazy.
Toby: you nearly finished?
Me: no. Going to get my makeup done, be home soon.
Toby: please be quick, I miss you.
Me: I've only been gone three hours.
Toby: that's too long!
Me: I'll be home soon.
Toby: you better be.
Me: I love you
Toby: love you
I look up from my phone to see Marion already at the car so I quickly speed up and get into the overly expensive vehicle.
Seventy five minutes later and I have had my nails and makeup done. My hair has been professionally curled and so had Marion's.
"You look beautiful, Spencer" she beams when we exit the store.
"I've had fun today," I admit. Toby's mom smiles at me.
"I don't get to do this often. I've had fun too," she whispers. I would have thought she would do this with Jenna.
"Jenna isn't the best company," she says as if she read my mind. "She never talks! I would never admit this to my husband but something doesn't seem right with that girl," she states. I never thought Toby's mom would be so understanding. I guess it's not just me who thinks that.
"Yeah, she is hard to read," I say, careful not to say to much. Marion gives me a weird look.
"Don't give me that bull! I know you think she's weird," she chuckles. We both burst into laughter as she unlocks the car.
She drops me off at my apartment and I grab my dress from the back seat.
"I'll see you tonight?" She questions, rolling down the window so I can hear her.
"Definitely! See you later," I shout as I walk to my building.
I can't believe I actually had a day out with Toby's mom and enjoyed myself. I wonder why Toby has such a problem with her.

Here is a chapter! I really enjoyed writing this. Toby's mom makes me laugh.
Have a good weekend!!!
