*Toby's POV*
Half past three. Finally my shift is over. I have the next three days off and I couldn't be happier.
At four o'clock, every day, Yvonne goes to The Brew to get some coffee. It's sad I know this.
I normally sit in The Brew and watch her get her take away cup of coffee but today is different.
Today I kissed my ex girlfriend and her mom hates me. Today my ex girlfriend then ran away. So today I'm going to speak to Yvonne. I need to prove a point.
She walks into the shop and I watch as she orders her usual. She smiles at the employee who hands her the cup before beginning to leave.
I quickly jump up from my seat and, as casually as possible, walk over to her.
Stay cool, stay cool. Just tap her on the shoulder and say hey. All you need to do.
"Excuse me. Hey, I'm Toby," I introduce myself. I just caught up with her as she walked out the door.
"Hi!" She smiles. "I'm Yvonne,"
"Hi, I'm Toby," I repeat. Damn it, I already said that.
"You said that already," she laughs.
"Yeah, I did," I blush, running a hand through my hair. "I just wanted to ask if you wanted to go for dinner this weekend?" I say, trying to act cool. I can see it's not working by the way she's looking at me.
"Well, I'm busy over the weekend." She says. Aw I get it, I've been rejected twice today now.
"Aw that's okay, see you around" I say, not bothering to hind the disappointment in my voice.
"I can go tonight though" she shouts after me.
"What?"
"I can go tonight if your free?" She repeats. Her smile is bright and just looking at her makes my blush. She's so out of my league.
"Yeah, I'm free. Pick you up at seven?" I ask, hoping she won't change her mind.
"Seven, I'll be waiting" she confirms. "Just meet here, we can exchange numbers when we are out."
"See you then" I smirk, feeling proud that I just asked out a girl for the first time in my life.
I never asked Spencer out. It just kinda happened. She was my tutor in French and one day I kissed her. It was outside a motel and she was wearing my shirt. I remember looking at her and thinking there was no one as beautiful in the world.
When she ran away from me today it reminded me of when we broke up. She was standing in her living room......
*Flash back*
"Hey" I mumble as I walk into her living room. She's pacing up and down in front of her fireplace.
"Hey" she quivers. Her whole body is shaking and her eyes are swollen. She's been crying.
"What's wrong?" I ask, concerned. I walk over and pull her into my chest. She bursts into tears and grabs my shirt.
"Don't let go" she whimpers into my chest. I'm better just telling her right now. Just rip the band aid off.
"I need to," I whisper, wishing, that as soon as I said it, I could take it back.
"What?" She whines, looking up at me but not letting go off my shirt.
"I'm sorry," I say. That's all I can say. I love her so much but I have no choice. What I done last night will scar me for the rest of my life.
"I don't understand," she cries, pushing her head into my chest again. I tighten my grip around her waist and rest my head onto her hair. I'll miss her smell, her laughter, her cries and the way her body fits in mine.
"I need to go," I say into her ear before letting her go and waking out her house without looking back.
*End of flash back*
When I look around after being in a complete daze Yvonne has gone. I don't know how long I have been standing here but I better get going. I've got a date for the first time in two years.
