*Three months later*

*Toby's POV*

I lay in my bed, thinking about the day ahead. I have never been more nervous in my whole entire life. Just thinking about meeting her sends a chill down my spine.

I haven't seen her in a while, three months and thirteen days exactly. It's sad, that I actually count the days that she isn't with me.

I miss her. More than anyone could imagine. I miss holding her, watching her smile and even just seeing her face.

That night I went home as soon as I left her, Veronica and Melissa. I left through the back entrance after saying goodbye to my mom. She was disappointed I left early but didn't say anything. She could tell I was upset.

Ever since the ball I have stayed in contact with my family. I've even been to dinner with them a couple of times. The best part is, Jenna moved across the country so I never have to see her again.

For the past three months I have been at the gym one or twice a day, trying to take my mind off of Spencer.

I use the punching bag. Hitting it as hard as I can. Pretending that I was the one beating myself up because of the stupid things I have done in my past.

I drag myself out of bed and quickly get ready. I throw on my jeans and a shirt, not wanting to look to bothered about meeting her after all this time.

It actually hasn't been that long since I saw her last but it feels like an eternity.

I run my fingers through my hair and slap my cheeks to try and get colour back into them. Ever since she left I've had a hard time sleeping. Every time I close my eyes I picture Spencer's face, mascara running, at she begs me to stay. That was before she blocked me out of her life.

I grab my keys and make my way to The Brew, hoping I'm there before her. I don't want her to be waiting on me, she might not even bother to wait.

Making my way to The Brew was torturous. My whole body is shaking and I'm breathing in and out heavily. I didn't think I would be this nervous.

I turn my radio up to try take my mind off of what I was about to do. The only thing is, I don't know what I am about to do.

I stop in front of the small coffee shop and fix my hair quickly, adjust my collar as well.

"You can do this," I breath before stepping out of my car and into the shop.

I look around and she isn't waiting inside so stand in the queue and order us both a coffee. I know exactly what Spencer will want.

I take a seat at the back of the room, at the table we always sit at when we are here- when we were here together.

She walks through the door minutes later. Her hair is straight, she's wearing leggings and I floaty blouse. She looks amazing.

She looks around the room, her eyes searching the small crowd until she spots me. I watch as she walks to me, and sitting at the seat across from me.

"Hey," I greet, hoping our first encounter in three months won't be awkward.

"Hi," she sighs. We sit in silence for a moment, her eyes looking anywhere but at me.

"I got you a coffee," I tell her, moving the cup closer to her. She looks at it.

"Thanks," her voice sounds emotionless. I can feel a small piece of my heart break every time she gives me that look, the look of disgust.

We both sit in silence again. I watch her intensely, trying to read her mind.

"Spence, please say something," I beg of her. I can't bare to sit in silence any longer.

"Toby I-" she stops. Something in her voice is different.

"What is it?" I ask, placing my hand on hers that is sitting on the table. She pulls her hand away and another piece of my heart cracks. "Sorry," I mumble.

"I have to ask," she starts, her eyes finally meeting mine for the first time since she sat down.

"Anything," I wait for her to ask.

"Why did you kill him?" She questions. I knew she would ask this question.

"Spencer I never meant it. I promise it was an accident. He was standing in front of my car, I pressed the accelerator and-" she cuts me off.

"Why Toby?" She whimpers, tears beginning to form in her eyes. I watch her as she wipes her tears away before I continue.

"I went to ask your dad if I could have your hand in marriage," I tell her. She looks at me confused.

"I went to your home to ask him if I could make you my wife and he said no. Well, he actually started shouting and yelling at me. Then he punched me in the jaw. I got in my car and when I got out of your drive I stopped for a moment. I was angry Spencer. I was in pain because of my jaw and because he wouldn't let me marry the love of my life. He stood in front of my car and-" Spencer holds her hand up to silence me. I look up to see her tear stained cheeks and red puffy eyes looking at me a way they have never looked at me before.

"I'm sorry Toby," she cries. Her voice shaky.

She gets up from her chair and walks towards the door. I just watch as she leaves the small coffee shop before I burst into tears, all alone at the table.
