*Ben POV*
"How many cookies are in there?" Sam asked eyeing the container in Scarlet's arms. Clary, who stood causally beside her twin looked at the box for a moment before answering.
"52. We made 60 but our dad got in the way." I made a noise in my throat but Sam seemed not so bothered by this fact. In fact, he chuckled.
"Uncle Cody must have been bummed to hear your cookies were going to us." Sam stated. Now that I thought about it, I could see Uncle Cody throwing a tantrum as the cookies left his house.
The girls shared a similar Cheshire grin with one another before finally handing the box of delightful goodies over to Sam who then handed them over to me. I looked at Sam defensively as he gave me the box.
"Why do I have to hold it?" My brother gave me a look before sighing.
"You hold the cookies. I give them payment. That's how it goes Ben." I looked at the cookies for a moment and then back at Sam.
"Can I eat a cookie now?" Sam rolled his eyes but nodded making me happily sit down on the porch and open the box of delicious treats.
"This is the video. Lucy filmed it but she gave it to us for only a small fee." Sam stated, as he showed the girls his phone. Scarlet watched for a moment before laughing while Clary's eyes were the only portion of her face to light up before turning up again to Sam.
"What fee did you boys pay?" Sam shrugged.
"Not really a fee. More like an idea. You know how Halloween in coming up this weekend?" Both girls nodded enthusiastically. Sam smirked my way at the moment I had my face full with butter cookies. I winked at him all the same making him cringe and turn to our cousins once more.
"You heard about Auntie Zoë's new gig that happens this weekend right?" Sam asked. The girls nodded again.
"But of course. Dad and Mom are going up to Los Angeles with your parents and Rosie this weekend for the showing." Scarlet stated, still concerned. Clary on the other hand looked back up to Sam with a shocked expression on her face.
"You boys aren't actually thinking about hosting a Halloween party here when you parents are gone?" Sam nodded and so did I, although my face was still covered in cookie crumbs.
Scarlet and Clary jumped up and down laughing.
"Oh you boys are so smart! Who's going to be there?" Scarlet asked excitedly.
"Some people-" Sam started.
"Everyone! Invite everyone!" I finished. This caused Sam to give me a look but this look was too late. Scarlet and Clary got the message and they were going to tell everyone.
"Listen. Don't invite your entire ballet class. Only the ones who won't run off and tell parents... okay?" Sam asked. Scarlet nodded but Sam was watching Clary who thankfully gave him a nod.
"Don't worry Sam, we got that covered. Anyway, we have to go. Mom expects us home soon with groceries." Sam and I waved and I of course yelled thank you making the girls laugh and wave at us once more before getting into their punch buggy and driving off.
When it was only Sam and me left, we walked back into the house and up to our room, passing Jade and Lucy on the way. When Jade saw the box of cookies, she stopped in her tracks and lunged for the box.
"Get off, you hairless cat!" I yelled.
"Boys! Stop hurting your sister!" Dad called from down below. Lucy stood back with Sam, the traitor, both of whom seemed to be enjoying this sibling fight.
