(MANY MONTHS LATER)
"Which street did they say it was on? 5th?"
"No Elle, it's this street. Wallpark. Kingsfort should be this building here." I responded, looking up at a high rise apartment building. Elle stopped next to me, looking up as well.
"Why on earth does she want us to meet here?" I shrugged.
"Maybe there are breadsticks." Elle rolled her eyes at my comment and continued toward the rolling doors.
"You're forgetting that this is Harper we are talking about. If she chose the place than there is absolutely no bread sticks. She's still anti bread products."
"Do you mean gluten free?" I asked, running up behind Elle who was trying to enter the circular door without getting rolled over.
"How about I go first so that you don't hurt yourself." I offered, pushing her gently aside as I spoke. Elle gave me a look which I returned.
"Don't be an idiot Rosie. I'm not going to kill myself over a bunch of doors."
"True, but the last thing I need is for you to get slammed by one of the doors hard when you should be home on bed rest." I responded gently.
Elle never liked being reminded that being pregnant came with some safety rules. Although she always followed them, she was really bent out of shape when she heard she could not drink while pregnant.
"Oh you go ahead than and drag me along after you if you want to be such a safety hen." Elle responded, giving me her hand to walk her through the rolling doors.
When we were in the lobby, a fancy one at that, Elle dropped my hand like Daniel would when he was bored with me. She looked around the lobby in search of a familiar face. At first neither of us saw the bluntly obvious red head standing by the restaurant entrance off to the side of the lobby until she turned around and ran to us.
Olive had not changed much since we last saw her. She was gone for six months in France, touring through cities with her new found husband Stephen Benton.
Stephen was a graduate of Harvard who had a big fetish for History and traveling. Olive was only too happy to go off on a month long expedition in Europe with him for their honeymoon but of course, only one month in Europe is too little for such a marvelous adventure... so they stayed for an extra month touring Europe just to make sure they covered everything they wanted too.
When Elle heard of this fancy honeymoon her friend was going on, she was only a little jealous and only talked to Rob a little bit about how different her definition of a honeymoon is compared to Rob's. Rob got the message and quickly sent Elle off to a spa for the weekend while he sat at home and watched over Ivy who was only a month old at the time.
Fast forward to today, with Daniel and Ivy being one year olds and Beth being a pampered nine month old baby with new siblings on the way.
"Look at you Olive! Your skin is tan. I didn't realize you could get a tan in France at this time of year." I commented as I hugged the red head. Olive chuckled and pulled back to hug Elle, who, was only too pleased to see her red head friend.
"It's nice out there. I already miss it but there are definitely some traits about here that I missed too. I'm glad I'm back unlike Stephen. He's already planning his next trip."
We turned toward the restaurant where a waiter directed us to a table by the window that looked out into the street.
"How is Bella? Is she moving around much?" I asked, as I placed my bag down by my feet. The table was set with a light blue table cloth with white flowers set in the center in a crystal dish. Elle was busy tapping away at said dish trying to make it ring. Both Olive and I chose to ignore this.
