*Lucy POV*
"Lucy wake up." I rolled over, covering my face with my pillow to hide the light from the open door.
"What time is it?" I muttered in a sleepy voice.
"It's 9:30 in the morning. Your call time is in thirty minutes."
"FUCK"
I jumped out of bed and was about to run into my closet when I saw who was at the door.
Jade stood next to my mother with a wicked expression of amusement on her face while my mother was just looking at me with a tired expression.
"Lucy, you know I'm trying to make this house curse less. Even for over sleeping and being close to missing your curtain call, I do not believe your dropping the f bomb is at all appropriate." Jade's features switched to a more amused expression before stepping into my room and jumping up on my bed.
I noticed that she was already dressed in warm ups and her hair was and make up were ready for the performance.
"How about this. In order for the both of us to not miss curtain call, we will both multitask this bitch," Jade stated turning to glance at me with her still very amused face. "I'll do hair, Lucy get changed and your mom can do your makeup. Sound good?"
I dashed into my closet in response while Jade went to the bathroom in search of my hair pins and brush. While I was slipping into my tights, I could hear my mom asking Jade to cool down the cursing too. I guess no one was given rights to curse anymore.
Minutes later I was sitting on my bed with Jade behind me working on my hair while my mother was quickly caking my face with makeup.
"Mom don't make my eyebrows scary looking."
"Lucy that's not scary makeup, that what you are supposed to be putting on your face whenever you are on stage performing. Learn your makeup rules." I scoffed in response only to get a sharp jab at my head from Jade.
"Ow! Jade, you've made your point. Now stop."
"Ha! Point. I get it," Jade stated in her monotone voice before once again jabbing me in the head with another pin.
"Ow! Mom, Jade's hurting me."
"For once Lucy, I don't care."
Mom drove us to the performance hall, speeding all the way over there. But this did not surprise me much seeing as she was already a pretty risky driver. Jade and I sat in the back cracking each other's toes as a warm up before finally putting on our seat belts with my mother's yells about safety heard in the background.
When mom pulled into the parking lot, full fast and furious mode, we had exactly twelve minutes before curtain call. Jade was the first out of the car and I was about to follow when mom grabbed my arm.
"Thought I should let you know that after the two performances today, Eleonora has invited our family to a dinner she is hosting tonight." I groaned and flicked my mom's hand off and got out of the car.
But before I could slam the door shut I heard mom give us well wishes on the show. As Jade and I walked up the stairs to the hall, I gave Jade hell about this new information involving dinner.
Apart from getting screamed at by both Ms. Olivia, and all the dance moms and maybe even Alice, we were all fine and could get on stage just in time.
During the Party scene, I pretended to show enthusiasm over one of the younger party children that Todd and I had decided behind stage would be our kid on stage and so together we pointed and clapped and pretended to talk shade about all the dancers, including Jade's Clara.
