Chapter 23

Natsu's Pov, 

I got into Lucy's room to see her hugging her legs into her chest. She looks confused and scared. "Hey Lucy" I gave a weak smile walking over sitting next to her. "James explained my illness" she only whispered as I nodded looking away. "Why would you date someone who's a time bomb?" she asked her eyes watering a little as I looked at her shocked. I put my hand on her cheek making her jump and look at me shocked. "Because I love you Lucy Heartfilla" I answered as she looked even more shocked.

"Everyone thinks us talking could trigger some memories so wanna start?" I soon asked removing my hand from her cheek. Lucy only nodded as I started thinking."When we was younger our mothers loved taking us to the flower fields" I spoke remembering the past. My heart hurting even more remember our mothers. I knew explaining what happened to Lucy's mother was going to be hard. "You used to make me yellow flower crowns, one day you finally taught me how to make one as I made you a pink one, Pink being your favourite colour" I then added as Lucy smiled a little.

"I remember that day mostly because it was the day I told you how I felt, well the first time, I was six at the time and you being five. I kissed your cheek and promised to always be by your side" I then smiled at the memory. Lucy looked away, staring at the ground. "I-I wish I could remember" she whispered as I then rubbed the back of my neck. I kept talking about our childhood. How we would go trick or treating together, how we would meet up nearly everyday just to talk.

Sadly it as the talk went on the timeline got to when Layla Heartfilla died. I soon finished knowing all this good talk would need to go dark. I wanted to leave it for another day. "We have been by each others sides for years then" Lucy was smiling as I nodded. "We always was, always will be" I replied as Lucy looked at me. "You have friends outside all worried and wanting to talk to you" I saw Mirajane looking through the window into the room. Lucy followed my eyes seeing the others.

"I don't remember any of them" Lucy whispered. "They don't care. We all just want you to be safe and happy" I then spoke as Lucy nodded. I got up walking to the door, opening it. "Two of you only" I spoke as they all the whole group looked at Mira and Levy. "YAY" Mira grabbed Levy's arm and dragged her past me into the room. I sighed and closed the door going back into the room to see Mira hugged Lucy pretty tight. "We will get your memories back don't worry about it Lucy" Mira nearly shouted.

I sighed as Lucy was a little shocked. Mira soon pulled away giving off her sweet smile. "I can't have my OTP dying now" Mira gave me a smirk as I groaned. "I brought this, you told me it was your favourite so maybe it could trigger memories" Levy pulled a book out her bag. I saw it was Grimm Tales, Beauty And The Beast. Yep that was Lucy's favourite book. Lucy took the book looking at the cover. "I hope I can remember" Lucy whispered as Levy and Mira talked about how they all met.

How I was pretty much a mean bad boy when Lucy wasn't around because I only cared for her. Lucy was smiling loving the stories from both of them. Soon James in in asking to speak to us all outside and to let Lucy rest. Levy, Mira and I nodded and waved to Lucy before leaving the room with Doctor James. James looked at all of us holding a chart in his hand. "She can get her memories back but slowly what will be hard is the painful memories are more likely to come back first" James soon explained.

I got worried. Painful first? My hands turned into fist as Erza soon walked over to me. "Sign this" she passed me some paper as I saw it was the papers to get Lucy to move into my mansion to live with me. "You really got this all ready?" I asked shocked. "I never tell empty threats so sign it" Erza only answered a threatening tone in her voice. I sign it right away as she then walked off with Jellal. If he was helping out with getting Lucy away from Jude then I didn't have to do much. Jellal was a master at planning.

"You may all speak to Lucy tomorrow, let her rest and think for now" James soon left as I sat at the chair closest to Lucy's door. The others sitting with us. "Erza seems to be a little upset" Juvia pointed out. "She met Lucy's father" I only mumbled as they all understood right away. My mind was on Lucy... All my thoughts couldn't stop thinking about how much everything could hurt her.....

As the night went on the others soon left as they had to go to college. I stayed not wanting to leave. While sitting outside the room unable to sleep I heard crying coming from Lucy's room. I jumped up right away going into the room to see Lucy crying hugging herself. "Lucy" I spoke worried rushing to her side. Sitting next to her on the bed and pulled her into a hug. Lucy just cried into my chest as she hugged back. Could bringing her memories back be worse for Lucy... It would bring to much pain.... 

I had to put Lucy's health and happiness first....
