Your POV

Swinging my scythe, I quickly found an opening. I went to strike, but Zane blocked after pushing Garroth to the ground. I quickly tried to strike again, but I was back at the tree, weapon less. I immediately searched for Laurance and found him heading for me. I went up to him and he hugged me.

"It's only been a few days, but I've missed you," the brunette said.

"A few days? It's only been a few seconds," I replied, my (F/C) tail wagging slightly.

"Oh, I forgot to mention this last time but...." Laurance paused, taking a deep breath. "Time moves differently in the Irene Dimension and the Overworld. Those fifteen minutes were fifteen years."

"Oh right, I forgot. Sorry," I apologized.

"It's fine. I can understand since you're battling Zane, but it's only been a few seconds."

I awkwardly laughed. "Yeah, I must have short term memory loss," I sheepishly said. Laurance laughed.

"Hey, it's okay. I bet you've also forgotten I'm part Shadow Knight."

"Yeah. But I bet you forgot that Author~Chan ships you with Hole~Sama."

   "What?"

"I said I bet you forgot that I still have a recording of you dancing ballet."

"Yeah, I did." He ran his hands through his hair. "So much has happened, and Aphmau won't stop worrying about you and Garroth."

"What about you?" I teased, bumping him slightly. "Don't you worry about me?"

"Of course I do. And not just because you're beautiful. I miss your positive spin on things. I think that's why we keep getting sent here."

   "Why? So you-"

"Can help the others? Probably," Laurance finished. I nodded, pondering that.

"So has anything happened since we last met?"

"Oh! Apparently when we come here our bodies come with us. So even though I'm asleep right now, my body is physically here. Aphmau and I caused quite the scare, haha."

"How is everyone in Phoenix Drop? Still good?"

"Yep. Although some have left everyone that's stayed is alright." I brushed a strand of (H/C) hair out of my eyes.

"You know (Y/N), everyone is truly worried about you. Even if they haven't know you for very long, they like you and care for you." I nodded, blushing. It was embarrassing being the center of attention, so I couldn't help but flush pink.

"So Laurance, what have you been up to?"

"Helping Aphmau, helping rebuild the village, helping recreate the Phoenix Alliance, more helping."

I laughed. "You sure must be helpful." Laurance shrugged.

   "I try."

"Maybe a little too hard," I teased. He smiled.

"Maybe." We continued chatting until the bells rang. Laurance and I were close enough to touch each other, and just before we disappeared, he kissed me. It was quick, but it was sweet, and it may or may not have been my first kiss. Jarred back to the fight, I was pushed to the ground.

"This is what you get for disappearing," he snarled. Zane towered over me, and he had knocked away my weapon. I tried to scout backwards, but there was a wall. Zane smirked, and I frantically looked around. Garroth was no where to be seen. He faded into being a few feet away from us and sprinted towards us as Zane raised his sword for the final blow. Garroth's not going to get here in time. He's not going to make it. I'm a goner. I looked up at Zane. I realized it would be okay if I died, since I had died trying to save others. I kept my head up and closed my eyes, accepting my defeat.
