Your POV

"Can one of you please explain what just happened?" Laurance asks.

"Nope!" Pika and I chirp. Laurance sighs and walks off.

"It's getting late, so I think I'll head back home. Tell me if you get any closer," I say.

"Will do. Keep me informed on your love life too, okay?"

"Okay," I agree. I walk back home and curl up in bed, thinking about today. Someone supposed to be dead is alive, but is it a one time thing or not? Pikachu knows I like Garroth and Laurance as more than friends, but I don't want to hurt my relationship with either of them. I groan into my pillow. Why is my life so hard?

The sunlight streams in through my window, and I realize I have to guard in a bit.

"I'm so great at this life-ing thing," I say while getting dressed and pulling my hair back. Outside the sky is clear and blue, and it looks like the beginning of a wonderful day.

   "Good morning (Y/N)," Aphmau greets as I hurry down the land.

   "Morning Aph," I reply. I reach Katelyn, who is just ending her shift, and take over, walking around the borders with my weapon and armor. The three hours pass quickly, and by the time my shift is finished I'm quite hungry.

   "Tired?" I nod. Travis laughs. "You look ready for a break."

   "And you look ready for the next shift. Bye then," I say, starting to walk off.

   "Wait, where are you going?"

   "To get food."

   "Alright. See you later."

   "Bye," I say, and leave for real. I stop by my house and make a sandwich before heading over to Garroth's house. When I reach the second floor I peer into the doorway. Aphmau has her hands on Garroth's side and is concentrating, but it doesn't seem like it's working. Even though Garroth can now sit upright without help, Laurance and I are keeping him restricted to his bed. We aren't sure how well he can walk, and we don't want to risk it. I walk in and Aphmau gives up. She's breathing kind of heavily and looks upset.

   "I'm sorry I can't help you. I don't know why it's not working," Aphmau apologizes.

   "It's fine Aphmau, I can heal normally," Garroth replies.

   "I just feel like this is my fault-"

   "No, it's not. Don't blame yourself for our decisions," I say. Aphmau sighs, letting her long hair hang in her face.

   "I'll come back later. Maybe Lucinda will have some potions," Aphmau hopes.

   "She'll have potions. The question is whether or not they're what we want and effective," I reply. Aphmau smiles before leaving.

   "So how are you doing?" I ask, sitting on the edge of the bed.

   "Better by the day. You don't have to constantly care for me, you know."

   "I know. But I'll always care for you and everyone a part of Phoenix Drop." It's silent for a moment.

   "Where's Laurance?" I ask. "He's usually here."

   "I finally managed to get him to leave and guard for a while."

   "But I was just guarding, and Travis came to take over my shift," I reply.
