<><><><><>Your POV
I continued pacing the cell, fear gnawing at my insides. Was Laurance found? Has he turned back to his Shadow form? Has e found Garroth? Are either of them hurt?
"(Y/N). (Y/N). (Y/N)!" I looked at Travis, who had been screaming my name. "Calm down. Worrying won't get us anywhere."
"But it's already been close to two hours. I can't wait-"
"Yes, you can. Now be quiet. Katelyn needs her rest." I looked at Travis, studying the way he gently pet Katelyn's powder blue hair as she napped. I sat down. Travis was right, worrying did't help at all.
*~*~*Mini Time Skip*~*~*
The door swung open, revealing a panting Laurance. I sat up. Laurance walked in, closed the unlocked door, and sat across from Travis, still sleeping Katelyn, and myself. I waited until Laurance caught his breath before speaking.
"What happened?" I asked. Laurance cleared his throat.
"You might want to wake Katelyn up. She'll want to hear this too," the brunette replied. Travis and I looked at each other.
"Nose goes!" Travis shouted. I placed my finger on my nose a split second after Travis and Laurance. I groaned. Crawling next to Katelyn, I gently shook her shoulder.
"Hey Katelyn. Laurance is back with news. Wake up," I said. It didn't work, so I started shaking harder. "Katelyn. Wake up. Katelyn!" Katelyn stirred a little. I perked up, but she settled down again and I sighed.
"Katelyn! Wake up!" I shouted. I got up and took a few steps back.
"KATELYN GET YOU LAZY BUTT UP!" I screamed. "CURSE YOU NETHER FOR NOT ALLOWING WATER BUCKETS!" Nothing. Katelyn was still asleep. Drastic times call for drastic measures.
"IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP NOW I WILL LET TRAVIS KISS YOU!" Katelyn sat upright, fists swinging in front of her.
"YOU WANNA GO?!" she challenged, glaring daggers at me.
"Maybe some other time. I just needed you awake because Laurance is back with news," I replied.
"Oh."
"Yeah, now pay attention."
"I have good news and bad news," Laurance began. "The good news is that I found Garroth."
"What's the bad news?" Travis asked.
"The bad news is that he was bleeding when I found him and he is currently unconscious. Luckily he is in my room here, but I have no idea what happened to him. I tried to wrap his wounds but there might be potions preventing him from healing," Laurance answered with a frown.
"Is there any way to tell if potions were used?" I questioned.
"Not this soon. Later, definitely, but now, with his wounds from just a few hours ago still fresh, there's no way to tell."
"I see," Katelyn noted. Everyone was frowning, worried for our friend.
"Why didn't you move him here? So someone could constantly watch him?" Travis asked.
"It would be too difficult to move him, and I'd be seen too easily. Besides, movement will only hurt his injuries and allow them to reopen." Laurance shook his head. "It was just too dangerous."
"Well, what are we going to do?" I asked.
"I'll keep an eye on Garroth. You guys stay here and act like the cell is locked. It isn't, so if you have a chance to escape you can, but I wouldn't recommended leaving unless you need to. The chances of someone seeing you are too high," Laurance replied, looking at all of us. "I need to go before someone notices I'm missing, or before Garroth wakes up. I'll see you tomorrow." I watched as Laurance got up and left, pausing slightly at the door. He looked back and gave us a weak smile. I faintly smiled back.
