Your POV

It was a rather long night. I was supposedly sleeping and waiting for instructions from Zane, but he had disappeared hours ago with only a promise of returning. I sighed again and stared at the ceiling, remembering how stupid Author~Chan sounded when she was sleep deprived last week. I turned into my side for the hundredth time and finally found the will and peace to sleep.

The morning was too bright and too early. Zane was too loud and needy. The armor too uncomfortable. The scythe- that was actually the only good thing. And even that was supposed to be used to protect Zane. I held back a scowl and tried to ready myself to play the role of the obedient wolf girl. Zane, finally done monologuing, looked at me. He smirked. Shoot. I wasn't paying attention. I suddenly became very nervous and fidgety.

"As for you," Zane started, " you will stay by me when I return here. I don't want your friends to see you until it's too late." I relaxed, I didn't miss anything important. But what did he mean by it being too late? Does he think Phoenix Drop can actually survive his attack? Everyone left the tent, allowing me to lose myself in my thoughts.

"So Zane is going to attack Phoenix Drop, but they'll probably be destroyed. What did he mean by my friends seeing me?" I mused aloud. I ran my fingers through my hair. "Hmmm. Maybe he has something else planned? But he doesn't want anyone to know? That would make sense." I paused again, hearing a bush rustling. I crept towards the tent entrance and peered outside. There was definitely something moving one of the bushes. I prowled toward it, my feet silent. My now completely (F/C) ears were switching between being pressed against my head and straining to hear any indication of the rustling' source. Slowly, carefully, I padded behind the bush. There sat a cute rabbit, completely brown, almost chocolate colored. I awed because it was so cute. I went to pick it up but was stopped by a voice that most people hate in the main series.

"(Y/N), I'm back. We're going now." The bunny scampered away and I turned back towards the camp. I went up to Zane and bowed, trying not to anger him. I pulled out my scythe and we began our journey.

"Stay close to me. And just ignore everything else unless it directly affects either of our physical wellbeings." I nodded, and followed Zane through the forest. I could hear the echoes of a battle and wondered for a minute who was winning. We continued through the woods until we reached a clearing where a familiar girl with a dark blue scarf was waiting. She smiled and Zane looked pleased.

"I see you are already here. Where is the other?" Zane asked.

"On the other side of that tree. He seems to have lost the will to live, and seems ready to do anything to get revenge," Lillian said. My mind immediately flashed to Garroth, who had been broken the last time I saw him. She doesn't mean....?

Zane headed over to the tree the dark brunette indicated and I tailed him. I peered around him, and sure enough, it was Garroth. He looked up when we stopped and stared at me. His face betrayed his sadness, his broken heartedness, for a second before a mask was put up again. I didn't know what to do. What is Garroth doing here?
