<><><><><>Your POV
Option A, save Laurance won with one vote. Thanks to that one person who actually voted.
"I think we should try and save Laurance," I said. Katelyn gave me a look of disapproval, but said nothing. Travis smiled, happy that someone was on his side, and Garroth nodded.
"I can see why you would say that, but we can't leave right now," Katelyn said.
"We'll need a few hours to prepare and gather materials. Who knows how long we'll be there," Garroth added.
"But if we wait too long then Laurance may get hurt, become a full time Shadow Knight, or even die," I reasoned.
"Remember that time works differently in the Nether," Travis added. "So what may be a few hours here are days there." I nodded. My tail and ears were twitching I was so anxious. Garroth sat back in his chair.
"That is true, but we need at least some supplies." I started to interrupt, but Garroth held up a hand for silence. "We leave in exactly one hour. Go." Everyone scrambled off to grab food, sharpen weapons, repair armor, and whatever else they needed to do. I ran upstairs and grabbed a (F/C) backpack. I packed an extra pair of shorts and shirt, then headed downstairs for food. I packed a bunch of loaves of bread and a few slices of steak. Wrapping them in a cloth, I placed them beside the clothing in my bag. Looking around, I wondered what else I would need. My scythe. I need my scythe. I ran back upstairs and took it out of my closet, heading back downstairs. I took a piece of iron and my scythe and sat on the porch. I started sharpening it, then ran my finger along the edge. Slightly drawing blood, I returned inside and washed my hands before putting the iron away and laying my scythe on the table. Looking around once more, I ran through my mental checklist. Food? Check. Weapon? Check. Extra clothes? Check. Armor? That's upstairs. I walked upstairs and hauled my armor back downstairs, cramming it into my bag. Armor? Check. Hmmm.... anything else? My eyes scanned the room for anything I missed, and they were drawn to a piece of paper on the couch. The note from the mysterious people. I had forgotten all about it with Laurance disappearing. Hesitating, I debated whether to bring it. I snatched it up and put it in my bag, wondering if it was from my family. I latched by bag closed and swung it over my right shoulder, leaving my house and locking the door. Admiring my house, I realized I might not be back for a while. That sent a pang of sadness through my heart, but I quickly replaced it with confidence that we could save everyone. Turning my back on my abode, I headed to Katelyn's house, and she was almost ready. Travis was impatiently waiting for her, and she kept yelling at him.
"Almost ready?" I called.
"For the eighth time Travis, I'll tell you when I'm ready!" Katelyn snapped back.
"Do I really sound that much like Travis?" I asked. Katelyn looked out the window.
"Hi (Y/N), I didn't realize it was you." Katelyn left my view and reappeared at her front door. Locking it, she joined us as we walked to Garroth's house. He was just walking out the door as we arrived. We waited for him, and then headed to the cave. Pausing before the portal, we looked at each other.
"Ready?" Garroth asked. Everyone nodded, turning back to the glowing purple portal. Garroth entered first, followed by Katelyn. Travis was next, whispering something about Katelyn having a nice butt. I entered last. Stepping through, I let the cool cave give way to the watery feeling of the portal, soon replaced by the arid climate of the Nether.
