<><><><><>Your POV
"Let me go!" I screamed as I thrashed against Laurance's harsh grip. He didn't budge. Instead, he tightened his hold on my arms and started to lift them, forcing me to bend over. I heard my siblings laugh at my fruitless attempts at escape. One of them, who I think was Becca, grabbed my scythe and walked out of my view. I was roughly whipped around, hurting my arms and throwing me off balance. I fell on one knee, causing pain to surge up my left arm. Laurance pulled my to my feet and started dragging me towards the cave entrance, pushing me through once my siblings had left so I couldn't escape. I crawled through and stood up, taken aback by how quickly Laurance had followed me and held me captive again. He followed my siblings and pushed me up the netherrack staircase.
"Laurance, why are you doing this? Why are you with them?" I asked quietly. Laurance stayed quiet, and we continued climbing for a few minutes.
"Laurance, this isn't the real you," I tried again. Laurance growled but didn't say anything. He's the one who growled, but I'm the wolf hybrid. I sighed quietly, giving up slightly. As we reached the top of the stairs and neared the Nether Fortress, I attempted one last time to reach the true Laurance.
"Laurance, please. You swore to protect people, so why are you hurting them now? The Laurance I knew would never have hurt anyone, especially not those close to him."
"Maybe the Laurance you knew was a lie," Laurance murmured, just loud enough for me to hear. I ducked in my breath. No. That can't be true.
"No. No, the Laurance I knew wasn't a lie," I attempted to reason. "There is no way that Laurance was a lie."
"Maybe it wasn't a complete lie, but he sure had a lot of secrets. Did you know he was half Shadow Knight?"
"Yeah..."
"Did you know how hard it was for him to fight me? For me to take him over? For how many days he suffered silently in hopes of defeating me?" This was not Laurance. It was his Shadow side that had taken over.
"No, I didn't know-"
"You didn't know because you didn't care. You never did. All you did was play the act of an innocent little wolf girl, never actually helping anyone." I winced. As Demon Laurance continued to rant his grip grew tighter and tighter, almost unbearably so. I could barely feel my fingers.
"Could you loosen your grip-"
"You're useless. You know why? You ended up killing you only friends, abandoned your family, left your little sister to die, constantly run from your problems, and always need to be saved. Not once have you ever been useful. Never. Laurance used to like you, but I don't know what he saw in you. You're dirt. Worthless. A freak." Those words stung, and a few tears formed in my eyes. I refused to let them fall. We were weaving through hallways, and Demon Laurance continued.
"The only thing you have done is made two guys fall in love with you, but you're too stupid to realize!" Laurance concluded. I stayed quiet.
"Maybe I knew, but just didn't want to break any hearts," I mumbled as Demon Laurance shoved me into a cell.
"(Y/N)!" a few familiar voices cried as I face planted. I stood up, and everyone hugged me.
"Are you okay?" Garroth asked. I nodded.
"Do you know what happened to Laur- TRAVIS!!" Katelyn screamed. Travis slyly looked to the right.
"What?" he asked innocently. Katelyn glared at him.
"You know what you did."
"Hey, do you know what happened to Laurance?" Garroth asked, drawing Katelyn's attention away from Travis and back to me.
"That's not Laurance anymore. It's his Shadow Knight side, and I don't even know where Laurance is, or if he can come back," I replied. I rubbed my wrists, red from Demon Laurance's death grip on them. I went to the back of the cell and sat down, putting my head on my knees. Someone sat next to me.
"Hey, we'll be okay. We'll get out of here, together and alive," Garroth comforted, rubbing my back gently. I smiled slightly and looked at him, before hearing Travis scream. I looked up and Katelyn was spinning him down, and he was frantically shaking his head no, begging for mercy for Irene knows what. I giggled, and Garroth chuckled.
