I sit down at the desk and pick up the packets from first period. This is a planning period and I already have my whole stay planned out. I grade the pretests and put them in a drawer. I pull a single lock of blonde hair in front of my face and nod to myself before letting it fall. I look at my reflection in the screen of my phone and slightly frown, I've never looked like this. I don't like this look, but this isn't about me. This is about Anthony Douglas, school teacher by day, disgusting filthy creature by night. Mr. Harris isn't sick, we told him if he called in sick we'd pay for him to go on vacation. He said as long as it got him away from all these teenagers he was fine. I left my door open for this period so I can watch the halls. I hear a slight knock and I look over toward the door. Hello, Mr. Douglas.

"Hi, I'm Anthony Douglas, my room is just next door if you need help with anything, getting students in line, putting grades in online, keeping the students interested. Anything really." He smiles.

"Thanks, if I need anything I'll send for you." I nod with a smile. "I'm Selene Carter, by the way."

"Nice to meet you." He says.

"You too." He nods before walking away. I smirk and grab my phone.

"So, what can you tell me?" Devonté asks.

"Um, some if things kids know a lot about ancient France, and oh yeah his room is right beside mine." I reply.

"Wow, that's great." He says monotone.

"Oh yeah, figured I'd tell you before I get another class." I say.

"Having fun?" He teases.

"Loads." The bell rings. "Gotta go." I hang up and set my phone down. Students file in and sit in their seats. The tardy bell rings and I place my hands on the desk before getting up and grabbing the stack of packets. "Alright, listen up- as you all know or don't Mr. Harris is sick, so I am your teacher until he returns. You may call me Ms. Carter and only Ms. Carter. Any question is a good question unless it has an obvious answer. Mr. Harris has left a note saying that you started with ancient history of France. I have a packet for you to complete, this is for what you know and only you, not me not your friend, not the person beside of you and not the internet. Any phone, tablet iPad and or iPod out in my class with become mine in the event I find you having it out unless I have said otherwise. You may retrieve your phone from me at the end of the school day. First time I catch you, that's all it is. Second time, you can get it back after detention and I will have a talk with your legal guardian, third offense your legal guardian can pick it up when you are done for school that day and you will then serve a weeks worth if detention. I can go on with every time I catch you, but let's hope I don't have do that. Please leave this packet turned over until I say to flip it over and begin. You will have this whole period to complete this." I set the last one down and walk to my desk. "Flip your packets over, you may begin." They all flip them over and start to work. I sit down in the chair and smile at my phone slightly. I open the text and roll my eyes before locking my phone. I lean back and cross my legs. I check the time. "You have ten minutes left, at this point if anyone is finished please place your packets on the left hand side of my desk, your right my left." Only two turn in a packet. I purse my lips and half nod. I get up and walk through the desks looking at the papers. One with only a name on it. "This isn't for a grade, just for me to see what you know. You can applesauce penguin if you want, multiple choice pick whatever." I whisper. She looks up and slightly smiles. I wink at her and keep walking through the desks. I slowly start to walk back to my desk. "I'll take that." I hold out my hand and he groans before giving me his phone. "Come see me at the end of the day if you want this back." I walk back to my desk and put in a drawer. I unlock my phone and read the text from Jake.

Call me. It's pretty bad.

I lock my phone back and stand up.

"No one is to get out of their seats until I get back." I state. I step out of the room and walk into Mr. Douglas's room. "Can you keep an ear out for my room? I have to take a very important phone call."

"Of course." He smiles.

"Thank you." I walk out and to the bathroom. I dial Jake's number and wait for him to answer.

"Five minutes? Not bad." He says.

"What happened, I'm on a very limited amount of time here." I state.

"Head bloodsuckers are coming after Ness and the Cullens. Alice and Jasper left too. She left a note for us to gather as many witnesses me can before the snow sticks to the ground or whatever." He explains.

"The new recruits should be getting here today. There's a lot of weapons that need be used too, but only if it comes to it." I say.

"How's teaching going?" He asks.

"Fine, this is my second class. Only had trouble with one person so far. And get this Douglas's class is right beside mine."

"That makes this easier, I guess?"

"You have no idea."
