Chapter 17

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Lakshya as you all know and I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for coming today. This family has gone through so much in the past and today is another day in which we are celebrating something going good. My wife Ragini is signing back all properties and business back to papas names," announced Lakshya.

The crowd broke into a round of applause at this. Ragini and Durga Parsad came to the front and signed the papers. Ragini bent down and touch his feet for blessings. 

"Beta, I know you did what you did out of character. You are still that sweet innocent Ragini that we first came to for the hand for our son Lakshya. I hope that from this point forward you are happy and we can do everything right to make sure," said Durga Parsad.

"Papa, I'm sorry for all that I put you and the whole family through. I know even if you guys forgive me, the pain I caused will still be there. I just hope that I can make it better," replied Ragini. 

With that the whole crowd and room room exploded in applause. They then all went back to their talking. Ragini coming into the crowd bumped into Swara who had a huge smile on her face yet her eyes told a different story. 

"Ragini, I'm so proud of you. I just hope that you now realise that I only want what makes you happy. I'm sorry if ever you felt that I was trying to steal your happiness. Please make a promise and from now on make the right decision."

"Swara, I'm sorry for everything that I have done to you but I did for the one person I love. I thought I could let it go but when you were marrying Lakshya I couldn't bare it. I know I have done wrong on so many occasions and lying about it made it worse. I'm trying to make it all up. However, the thought of you coming into this house still scares me. I'm working on that. I just hope that if you even come into Sanskar's life that you don't hurt Kavita like you did me."

What Ragini said hurt Swara. What did she have to say to make her believe that she didn't want to hurt anyone. Not Kavita, nor Sanskar and especially Ragini. But she also knew that her sister had been broken up so much with Lakshya that she found it hard. She was willing to give her sister some time.

Sanskar had a moment of doubt as he thought about what he was going to do. He has been thinking this through many times and kept telling himself that he was doing all this for his love. He watched Swara as she spoke to guest. She kept a smile on her face yet deep down she was sad and breaking. 

"Sanskar everything is ready and as you wanted. Are you sure about this all?" Asked Ragini. 

He nodded in response and thanked Ragini for all that she had done to organise his plan. He walked over to Kavita and took her hand in his. She was a little surprised but walked with him. He stopped at the first step of the stairs. 

"Ladies and gentleman, if I can have your attention for one more second. I would like to thank you all for coming to such an amazing day to share the happiness that we have had today. I will like to also add another news to this moment. As you all know, Kavita has come back into my life and she was my first love. I have decided that I will like to continue from where we left off and get married to her in a weeks times."

As the announcement was made, the crowd broke into whispers and then applause. The family members were also shocked at this announcement. Sanskar looked at Swara and saw tears forming in her eyes. She tried to hide this fact but she was unable to. The news hit her hard.

As if a bolt of lighting had hit her, the announcement took away the floor from under her feet. She couldn't believe her ears as she tried to process the information. Had she heard Sanskar correctly? Did he just say that he was marrying Kavita, in a week. She no longer could hold back the tears. It stared to form in hear eyes and it started to burn. She wiped it away and joined in the crowd. She got Sanskar's eyes and she saw pain in them. But he looked away. 

Swara broke even more, she was losing something else and she couldn't stop it. Has she lost her love once again? Has she been so arrogant to accept his love and proposal? She was starting to regret the decision.
