Chapter 19

Ragini stood at the corner as she watched people talk and mix around. She wasn't paying attention much to what they were doing but kept an eye on Swara and Sanskar. She could see how Swara tried to ignore Sanskar and how painful it was for him to also ignore her. Ragini couldn't believe how things had suddenly changed so much and how everything felt like a huge mess. She wanted the happiness of a stranger over her sisters on one hand but then she also wanted her sister to be happy once again and that was only possible when someone else would get hurt. Problems kept building up and no solution came to mind. 

"Ragini, what are you doing here? I have noticed that all night you have been distracted, is there any issues that I can help with?" Asked Kavita to Ragini's surprise.

Ragini looked at Kavita and tried to tell herself that she needed to do whatever she had to for the truth and not put her feelings in the middle. This was about Swara and Sanskar not her. "Everything is fine. I just feel bad that even after what I did my family are willing to forgive me. I just wish that Lakshya could do the same," replied Ragini. 

"I know this isn't my place to say anything as I wasn't there and I don't even know you, but I believe that over time things will get better. As long as I have known you, you seem like a great person who loves her family and is willing to do anything, Yes, at one stage lost in your ways but now you are trying."

Ragini smiled and was about to leave when Kavita held her hand and stopped her. "Ragini now can you please tell me the truth about a question that I ask you."

Ragini tensed up as she knew that what Kavita was going to ask wasn't going to be easy. "I know you already answered my question but I still get the feeling that you and everyone is hiding something from me," said Kavita. 

Ragini didn't want to lie but what happened and is happening between Sanskar and Swara wasn't her place to say. "Nothing is happeneing. Why would you think that?" Asked Ragini as she shuttered. 

"Come on, I'm not blind. I can see how the news of me getting engaged to Sanskar shocked everyone and not even in a good way. Something tells me that the family isn't happy with this rishta. Everyone starts acting weird when I come in and everything is to do with Swara. I have a right to know."

How do I tell you the truth Kavita. You won't be able to bare it. Swara and Sanskar are madly in love but are willing to give it up for you. But I'm not the one that you should be asking this question to. I'm already stuck in a problematic state as I don't know who I want to get hurt at the end of this. You or Swara.

Swara felt like she was drowning and even though people where around her, no one could see or help her. Everything that was happening was too fast and too much. Why was she so broken up about Kavita and Sanskar getting married when she was the one who kept telling Sanskar to give Kavita a chance.

"Swara beta, are you ok?" Asked Shekhar. "If you want then we can leave, I know how hard this all is for you."

"Papa nah, if I leave then people will think that I'm not happy about this and that I'm being selfish."

"Let me know when you want to go.  I know you want to be brave and all but it is understandable if this is too much and it is hurting you," whispered Sharamistha.

"Honestly yes it is hurting me and I'm finding it hard to stand here pretending that I'm ok but I also know that I was the one who told Sanskar to give Kavita a chance. It's that what he is doing?"

Swara watched as Sanskar went around the guest and how they greeted and congratulated him for the big news. "This is, Sanskar is moving on with his life and I guess what we had was limited time only. I should be happy that I got the chance to be in your life and you in mine. No matter how short lived it was. After all that has happened I think I should just take time away and  think of myself and my music. I wish someday I find someone as special as you again Sanskar "
