Chapter 33

Once again I'm so sorry for such a late update... This time its 2 months. I have been so busy and I wanted to make sure that I do justice to Swasan and Raglak. Hope this chapter is worth the wait.

Ragini paced the room as she couldn't stop thinking about what Kavita had said. Was it all true? Swara knew from the beginning that Lakshay's marriage was meant to happen with her and she was so against it at the start but then she went ahead and spent time with him and fell in love. She always said that she would do anything for her yet she was the reason behind the worst time in her life.

But did that mean that she had to go down that same path that she had taken once before? Lakshay still hated her and even thinking about he would say or do made her inside turn in pain. She shook her head. 'What m I even thinking? I have put them all through a lot as well and maybe that is why I deserve to be unhappy. But Swara and Sanskar don't. I cant help Kavita as she is wrong and in the end she is the one that will get hurt'.

Lakshay came and stood in front of Ragini and she bumped into him and he caught in time before she fell to the ground. He held her tight and watched as the slow breeze blew the few strains of hair on her face. She had closed her eyes and Lakshay saw that innocence from before. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Lakshay staring at her. Suddenly becoming self conscious, she stood up and Lakshay let go of her hand. 

"I just wanted to know what you were thinking. I notice that you have been distracted lately and something is in your mind that you aren't sharing," observed Lakshay. 

Ragini was taken back by this as she couldn't believe that he paid attention to her. "Honestly why do you even care? I know that this is all a lie and that there isn't a slightest chance that you will move on and allow me in your life. Like I said, I'm only here till Swara and Sanskar get together and then I will leave you and your life alone. So don't worry about pretending to care," answered Ragini. 

She turned around and started to walk away. Lakshay stood there  watching and inside he left something. Hearing what she said, what was it? Did he care that Ragini had given up on their relationship and was leaving him? Isn't that what he wanted?

Swara entered the Maheswari house and saw decorations being put up. She saw everyone busy in organising something that they didn't even see her come in. She tried to get Sujata's attention but she wasn't even looking her way. Even Annapura was on the phone and also talking to helpers. Swara didn't know what this was all about until she turned around and froze. As if the earth from under her was shifted and she had fallen in. There two people carrying out was a sign and on it read, 'Sanskar and Kavita's Engagement'.

Tears formed in her eyes as she tried to hold them back. She looked around hoping to find Sanskar so that she could speak to him. She needed this all to be over before it was too late. She stopped when she saw Ragini come down the stairs. Swara notice that she looked distracted and even though with all that was happening, she still cared about her sister even if she didn't care for her. 

"Ragini, can I talk to you?" she asked as she pulled her to the side.

At first Ragini didn't know how to react but then she gave her a weak smile and nodded. 

"What's bothering you? I know that this all is getting ridiculous as we keep going backwards and forwards on this. I want to move on and having you always standing in the way... I don't know what I have done to you that you had to do all this?" 

"Swara... there isn't anything that I say that would change anyones mind about what happened and why I had to do all that I did. There are times that I ask myself how I could do it all but then I remember that I only did it for my love who I have lost anyways. You knew from the beginning that I only wanted Lakshay and still... well that is in the past and I don't want to keep reliving it all."

"But you are.By siding with Kavita, you are making the same mistake that you made with Lakshay. Well I cant change or make your mind up for you, its going to have to be your own decision. I only thought that my sister would have been by my side. I guess I was wrong."

Swara left leaving Ragini alone. "I don't know how I can make everyone believe that all I ever wanted was to see everyone happy. People don't see the good that I have done but make one mistake and all see that and don't let that go," she thought.

Sanskar from the top watched down at the preparation happening. He wanted to stop this all but then he also had to keep in mind that this was all to get Swara back. He had to find a way to make sure that Swara stopped this whole engagement in time and that Kavita understood how much they loved each other. 

He stopped when he saw Swara. She was looking around and he could tell that she was upset. She had stopped when she had seen the sign and it hurt him to see her hurt. The things that he had to do for his love.

For a second she had disappeared but then he saw her approach followed by Ragini. Sanskar knew that even though Ragini was still struggling with the whole Swara and Kavita love triangle, she wanted Swara to be happy and she was doing all that she could to help him. Swara on the other hand didn't see this and Sanskar knew that she was still upset with Ragini. He was focused on getting Swara that Ragini was willing to take all the blame and hatred from her. 

Swara paused and then slowly looked up. She had felt the presence of Sanskar and sure enough she saw him standing at the top looking down. Her heart skipped a beat and she knew that this was her last chance to talk to him and sort it all out.
