Chapter 18

Swara didn't know what to do at that moment. Her whole world was suddenly shaking and spinning. It felt like she couldn't breath and the more she tried to breath in the air the more tears started to form in her eyes. She closed her eyes as she couldn't bare this all. Then suddenly a warm hand came down and interlocked into her fingers. She slowly opened her yes not sure who it was and turned around to face the person. To a great relief and slight happiness she now stood shoulder to shoulder with Ragini, her sister.

Ragini held her hands for support as she knew how hard this was for Swara. At first Ragini wasn't sure if she should support her sister but she saw how broken she was she couldn't help herself. She had to be by her side. She put her other hand on Swara's shoulders and guided her through the crowd to somewhere quiet. Swara was glad that she had someone by her side.

"Swara, control yourself. You have always been the strong and calm one. Please don't let that change. I know that it is hard to see the one that you love choose someone else but that doesn't mean that you just give in to all the pain. I know how useless that can be," supported Ragini.

Now unable to keep any of her emotions in, she started to cry. Ragini gave her a hug and she held her tightly as she cried. "Maybe I had been stubborn with this situation from the start. maybe I should have listened to Sanskar and stayed with him. I didn't want to take away his first love and I didn't want to hurt Kavita at the same time. Now I don't even know what to do?"

"Swara please. I know that it is hard to believe and at the moment what I say you wont like but you were thinking from your mind. You did the right thing by letting Sanskar choose and give Kavita a chance. What decision he made was what was right for him. If you had made him leave Kavita then he wouldn't have been happy."

Swara paused as she pulled back. At first she couldn't believe what her sister was saying. Was she still so unsecure about everything that she was happy with what was happeneing. She watched her in shock as Ragini tried to calm her down. "Ragini so you really think that I would have stole Kavita and his love? I hope you can understand that how painful it is to see your love go."

"Swara you are forgetting that I do understand very well, I have always been the one to make that sacrifice but sometimes you have to fight for what you love most."

Hearing this Swara calmed down and understood her sisters point of view. She knew what she was saying was true. Sanskar had time now to think this through and he had made his descision. That's what she wanted wasn't it? Swara gave Ragini a hug and turned around to leave. She stopped at the door and said, "Ragini maybe you are right, maybe Sanskar will be better off with Kavita, I shouldn't steal their happiness like I was about to with you." And with that she left.

Ragini couldn't believe how painful it had been to hear her own sister say that you her. Yes she was scared if Swara came into that house then things wouldn't be as Ragini had always planned her life to be. She would always be scared that Lakshya wouldn't be happy with her. But at the end of the day she never wished for her sister to give up her happiness. She wanted her sister to get what she deserved and she was in love with Sanskar. Ragas I couldn't say that Sanskar deserved Kavita or Swara but deep down she knew what the answer was. 

Someone's hand was on her shoulder and she turned to see Lakshya. He had a sad and painful expression on his face. Ragini knew straight away that he had heard the whole conversation. "Ragini i know you are trying to change and you do care deeply for your sister. I also know that that was one of the painfullest thing you have done. You had to hurt your sister once again. Thank you for helping us with Swara and Sanskar's happiness," said Lakshya.

"If doing all this will make Swara realise her true feeling for Sanskar and she will fight for it then I'm willing to do it again. I already have hurt my sister so much that by now she is used to hating me."

"Ragini please don't think like that. Swara has never thought of you in a negative way ever. I know she doesn't hate you," said Sanskar as he came into the room. "Trust me, it's you who is selling  yourself short with her. You know Swara more than me and I know that you know how big her heart is. How much she cares for all and she is always willing to put others before herself."

But no more Swara. I can't have you play with my feelings and yours like this. I'm doing all this for you and I hope that you will realise how stubborn you have been. It feels like I repeating myself with this but why don't you understand. Kavita was my past and I have moved on. I'm sorry if she still hasn't but I can't sacrifice my happiness and live for you just to make her happy.
