Saphira in the Hobbit

The Shire and Dwarves

Saphira's POV

We had finally reached the Shire and it was very peaceful. I followed Gandalf through Bag End as he lead the way. Apparently a hobbit called Bilbo Baggins would be joining us on the journey. Also all the dwarves were meeting at Bilbo's house tonight where Gandalf will put a mark on his door.

Soon we reached one hobbit hole where a hobbit was smoking his pipe by the gate. "Good morning" he says greeting us.

"Do you wish us a good morning or is the morning good?" Gandalf asks him.

"You'll confuse him Gandalf" I tell Gandalf.

"Aye you're the wizard with the fireworks" the hobbit stated.

"That is true, Gandalf the Grey at your service and this is Princess Saphira" Gandalf said introducing us. "Saphira this is Bilbo Baggins" Gandalf tells me.

"An honour to met you Mister Baggins, but please call me Saphira I dislike formalities" I tell Bilbo. He nodded his head and Gandalf told him about the quest we were going on. But Bilbo refused to go and Gandalf sighed.

"Can you please then look after Princess Saphira? I have some errands I need to do and she cannot come. I'll be back tomorrow to collect her" Gandalf asks/tells Bilbo.

"I don't mind, I like guests and would love to ask her questions about elves. If I may?" Bilbo asks me. I nod my head and then followed him into his hobbit hole. I heard Gandalf put a mark on the door before he left to collect the dwarves. "So where do you come from?" Bilbo asks me as we settle in his living room.

"I have lived in Lothlorien all my life, but have been to Rivendell occasionally. But I do not know my birth place" I tell him. "That is why I am going with Gandalf, he is taking back to my family" I say happily.

"Well I hope you find them, now you must be hungry" Bilbo says standing up heading towards his kitchen. "I'll make you a salad, I know elves do not eat meat regularly" he says getting the food ready.

"Thank you Mister Baggins that is very kind of you" I tell him.

"Please call me Bilbo Lady Saphira" he tells me.

"Only if you call me Saphira, no princess or lady" I tell him and nods his head agreeing. I spent the rest of the day helping him in his garden tending to Belle. While answering Bilbo's questions about elves and my life occasionally.

(that night)

Bilbo and I prepared dinner I made extra for the dwarves that had yet to arrive. But Bilbo didn't notice the extra food I made. As we started to eat there was a knock at the door and Bilbo went to answer it. Soon the first dwarf walked in and started to eat the food from Bilbo's plate. He didn't notice I was here as he ate until I gave him a plate of rolls.

There was an other knock at the door and Bilbo went to answer it as the dwarf looked at me. But when an other older dwarf entered he turned to him. They greeted each other happily and started to eat. I had finished my food as there was a third knock at the door.

"I'll get it Bilbo" I tell him as he went to get it. I open the door and there were two young dwarves there. They introduced themselves as Fili and Kili bowing before they noticed who I was not. "Bilbo is in the dining room  and there is food" I told them smiling gently. They gave me their weapons before joining the other two dwarves.

I entered the dining room after putting down their weapons near my bow and arrows. Then went back to the dining room as Bilbo went to answer the door again. This time eight dwarves fell through the open door and Gandalf stood behind them.

As the dwarves ate I watched them and Bilbo was arguing with Gandalf about why there were dwarves in his house. Just then Ori I believe his name was asked Bilbo want to do with his plate. Fili took it from him and throw it to Kili as the other dwarves banged their knives & forks together. "Don't do that you'll blunt them" Bilbo tells the dwarves.

"Oh you here that lads he says we'll blunt the knives" Bofur said.

"Blunt the knives and bend the forks!
Smash the bottles and burn the corks!
Chip the glasses and crack the plates!
That's what Bilbo Baggins hates?

Cut the cloth and tread on the fat!
Leave the bones on the bedroom mat!
Pour the milk on the pantry floor!
Splash the wine on every door!

Dump the crocks in a boiling bowl;
Pound them up with a thumping pole;
And when you've finished, if any are whole,
Send them down the hall to roll!

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!" The dwarves sang as they throw the dishes around cleaning them. I laughed the whole time enjoying the show ducking out of the way of flying plates. I even throw my plate to Kili who caught it before throwing it to someone else.

Just then there was a loud knock on the door. "He's here" Gandalf says getting up to answer the door. I sat down between Fili and Kili as Gandalf entered the room with another dwarf. But this was not just any dwarf, he is Thorin Oakenshield the leader of this company.
