Bilbo's Return and Attack

Saphira's POV

"He left and is long gone by now" Thorin told Gandalf.

"Yeah no thanks to you" I tell him annoyed.

"Dwalin was with him last" Thorin stated.

"Don't blame this on me" Dwalin said loudly.

"When did you last see him?" Gandalf asked us.

"I saw him slip away as we were captured by the goblins, I thought he'd come to get you Gandalf" I tell him. "But I'm sure he didn't wander far and will be back any minute" I say confidently.

"He is long gone and probably half way back to Rivendell" Thorin said.

"No his not" said Bilbo's voice as he appeared from behind a tree. I ran to give him a hug and told him not to scare me like that again. "I'm sorry Lady Saphira" he said as we pulled away.

"We had given up on you except for Saphira" Kili told Bilbo.

"Why did you come back?" Thorin asks Bilbo.

"You're right I miss the Shire, my books, my fireplace and garden it is my home. That is why I came back. Because you don't have one, it was taken from you. And I will help you get it back if I can" Bilbo finished. With that said we continued on our journey with Gandalf leading us. As we heard wargs on our trail with a pack of orcs no doubt.

"Up into the trees, climb" Gandalf told us as the wargs and orcs appeared. I climbed up a tree with agility and grace followed by Kili & Fili. That is when a pale orc appeared on a white warg. It was Azog the one Thorin was slain in battle many years ago.

The wargs started jumping the trees that started to fall backwards. We all hopped onto the last tree together that managed to stay up right. Gandalf turned pine-cones into fireballs and we throw them at the wargs. Fire surrounded us and the tree as the wargs ran away.

However the tree started to fall and Ori was knocked down from his branch. But he grabbed an other dwarves legs before he fell off the cliff. Now they were both starting to fall. I tied a rope around a strong branch and swung down to them. Catching them as they began to fall "hold on tight" I tell them.

We watched Thorin fight Azog and his white warg. Then how Bilbo saved his life as Azog was about to end it. Thorin fell unconscious, but I could see him breathing still. The other dwarves then attacked as I pulled me and the other two back towards the tree.

But the eagles appeared and I turned to them "let go, trust me." They did so and fell onto an eagles back and it flew away. One came up beneath me and I jumped down to it. All the eagles headed the same way and away from the angry Azog & his pack.

They landed near a river on a rock face and we all went to make sure Thorin was ok. He asked for Bilbo when he woke and Gandalf said he was here and safe. "What were you doing?" Thorin asked him as he stepped closer to us. "You could have got yourself killed, did I not say you would be a burden?" he asked.

"He saved your life" I reminded him.

"I have never been so wrong" Thorin told him and hugged him. I smiled as Ori and Dori came up to me.

"You saved us lassie and we will be forever grateful" they tell me and bowed.

"No need for that I said I'd protect the company with my life" I tell them and gave them a hug. The other dwarves were all cheering around us. Then Thorin came over to me after he hugged Bilbo.

"And you, you have saved several of our company risking your own life. I was wrong to doubt you both, can you forgive me?" he asks Bilbo and I.

"There is nothing to forgive Thorin, I understand why you dislike elves" I tell him and he gives me a gently hug. Bilbo nodded his head.

"I would have also doubted myself I am no warrior or even a burglar" Bilbo stated. Just then the eagles flew past us and headed back up to the mountains. We then turned to opposite way and saw something in the distance. "Is that?" Bilbo asks.

"Erebor, the lonely mountain" Gandalf said nodding his head.

"Our home" Thorin states proudly. Just then a raven flew by heading towards the mountain.

"A raven and it is returning to the mountain" one of the dwarves said. 

"We will take it as a sign" Thorin told us.

"You are right, I do believe the worst is behind us" Bilbo stated. Little did we know of the dangers that still laid ahead of us. And that the dragon still dwelled in the mountain sleeping.
