Chapter 26 - Guess Who's Back?

Jade's POV

I was driving back home with Perrie in the car. She was about to fall asleep until I came to a hard stop. "Sorry.." I said as I apologized to her. She shook her head and started to doze off back to sleep. I hummed the words to a song that was playing.

"Nice humming, hehe.." I looked at Perrie and she was starting to wake up again. "What? I thought you were asleep?" I asked her while driving and trying to pay attention to the road. "Well, I-I was..until I heard you humming. I woke up to your humming and now I'm fully awake." She said as she rubbed her eyes, getting makeup everywhere.

"Sorry Pez, you can try and go back to bed if you want." I said to her as I came to a stop at the stoplight. I looked over at her and she was on her phone. "Another text from...Summer?" She shook her head and looked confused. "No..not Summer this time. It's um.." She said slowly.

Then a car honked at us and the person yelled at us to go. "We're sorry!" I yelled back, looking outside of my window. I started driving really fast not knowing how fast I was going. "Jade! Slow down!" Perrie yelled as she looked up from her phone. I stepped on the brake really hard and I saw how close we were to the car in front of us.

"Oh my god Jade! We could've gotten in an accident!" Perrie yelled at me and I kept quiet. "Well! Aren't you gonna say anything?" She said as she looked towards me. "I-I'm sorry..I didn't know. I would never try to get into a car accident.." I said. Perrie stayed quiet and I continued driving.

"Ugh, stop texting me!" Perrie shouted out of nowhere. She turned her phone off and slammed it to the floor of the car. "If you don't mind me asking, who is that?" She looked at me like if she wanted to tell me or not. "Well? Are you okay with telling me?" I asked her while I was driving. We were almost close to home so that was good.

"Um, maybe I'll tell you later." She said looking down at her hands that were in her lap. "Hey! I have an idea!" She said all of a sudden with a happy voice. "Uhh....how about we go to the mall? You know, I'm actually feeling really cheery and happy right now." She said as if she was about to jump out of her seat.

"Perrie, what's going on? I thought you wanted to go home? Your makeup is messed up? I thought you wanted to cuddle?" I asked her as we stopped at a red light again. She shook her head, "What? When did I say that I wanted to go home? And who cares if I look like a mess! I..uh...have makeup in myyyyy" She said stretching out the word 'my'.

I stopped her from looking around the car for her purse, "Perrie, what's really going on?" I said a bit louder this time. I pulled up to her house and saw someone sitting on the porch, "Perrie, who's that?" I asked her. I couldn't really make out who it was. "Uh...we should've gone to the mall.."

We pulled into the driveway and I swear I've seen this person before. But where? Perrie got out of the car a little scared. The person seemed to be swaying back and forth and smelled of alcohol. "What are you doing here? Get off of my property." Perrie said with a stern voice but a little shaky.

"Perrie, please don't ask me to leave. I would never leave you, not again." "SHUT THE HELL UP! You did once and you're bound to do it again!" Perrie shouted. The person stood up and walked over to Perrie, then I remembered who it was.

He started to take Perrie's hand and so I grabbed it and pulled it off. "Let go of her hand!" I shouted. I looked at the person dead in the eyes and said, "Who the hell are you?"

"Real question is, who the hell...are you?" The eyes were red and scared me a little. "I-I'm Jade. I'm her girlfriend..now. Who are you?"

"Oh sweetie, I'm her ex. I'm Zayn."
