CHAPTER NINE: MOVIE TIME

Percy POV:

I went into my room while Annabeth went back to her house, and started looking for my stuff from last year. I was going to have to work hard to catch up and have any chance at graduating this year. Math would tank the most work, so I was looking for that notebook when I found something sitting in the box of supplies. It was a small, blue, velvet box, and inside was a silver trident charm on a thin chain, about an inch and a half long. There was a note tied onto it.

Dearest Perseus,

Take this gift, as a small reward for defeating Gaia. There will be a larger gift eventually, but it's not ready yet. About the charm, it is attached to the chain by a strong magnet, and if you pull it away, it will become the weapon of the bearer. Use it how you wish, but I believe that you have an anniversary coming in the next few weeks.

I was actually really surprised that my father knew when my anniversary of dating Annabeth was. Maybe he paid a little more attention than I thought he did. Anyways, I knew what I was giving her. I hid it in my underwear drawer, where she wouldn't be looking. Digging through the box again, I found my math notebook. Luckily, I had taken some notes, so I did have something to go from. I'd have to talk to one of the guys in my class about the second semester. Oh well. I'd only ever had one friend at Goode, and he hadn't been in my math class last year.

I was only a few pages into my notes. My teacher, Dr. Draper, hadn't done notebook checks, so my notes were in Ancient Greek, making it easier to study. Then, I heard the doorbell and got up to let my girlfriend in. Mom beat me to it, though. Annabeth was just coming inside when I got to the door.

"Welcome back," I said.

"Glad to be back," she replied. We went into my room and he tossed her duffle bag onto my dresser. She looked at the notebook on my desk.

"Studying? Already? School starts on the 19th, and it's only the 4th!"

"Well, I missed half of last year," I retorted.

"True, true,"

"So, what do you want to do?" I asked.

"I dunno, maybe watch a movie?"

"Sure,"

We went into the living room and put on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, one of our favorites. My mom was in her office working, so we turned the volume down, but I don't think she noticed. We cuddled on the couch, and just watched the movie. When it was over we let the credits run while we made lunch.
