THE SEED OF FAITH

"6 I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.

7 It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow.

8 The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. "

1 Cor 3:6-8

In a world of confusion, there is only one road that leads to salvation. A light that illuminates the darkness of this dying world. What gives hope in a world of unforgiveness, transgressions and calamity? Look at the world around you. Can you see the pain in the eyes of the people you meet? What do they tell you? Christ is always the answer to all of these.

I say this not because I had a great life but because I, too once lived in the darkness. In every person there is always a demon to be fought. What is your demon? Is it jealousy? Greed? Power? Vanity? Pride? Pride. The root of all evil. The source of all the darkness in the world.

There is this hollow in our hearts that we can't seem to satisfy. A hunger for something that most of us don't know about. The seed that God planted will always look for the light so it could grow tall and bear fruit. But when we close our hearts and allow darkness to reign. That seed will never grow and wouldn't be able to grow fruits and extend to others so it could multiply. The darkness will consume the seed and bury it until it is forgotten. But God will never forget the seed that He Himself has planted. He knows the seed and knows where He leaves it. And He will make it grow to become a part of the big forest that would eventually give life to others.

A seed needs water, air and light to grow. And if the seed is buried deep down hidden in darkness. The Lord will never just leave it buried. Even if He would send storms just to water it, a strong wind to make it breathe and send drought to make it feel the heat. He will. Until the seed will find its way to the top and start to see the light. Until the seed extends its leaves to the sky praising the One that gave it life.

You, me, all of us are those seeds. The seeds of faith that God the Father planted always look and seek for Him in times that there are storms, mighty winds, and drought. Let us seek His light. That we may become a part of the vast forest that would give life to other seeds.

Let us raise our arms to Our Heavenly Father. Just like the branches of the tree that give praises to Him. Let us offer ourselves to Him. All our pains, all our struggles, all our sickness, all our persecutions. Let us give it all to Him. Because He is the only one who could quench the thirst in our spirit. Just Him. Only Him.

(I write that God be exalted. Even when the world is about to crumble, His undying love will always save for His blood that flowed is mercy that will always be enough to wash away the sins of the world. For every sin requires blood as payment and He paid the ultimate price. This is enough to make you worthy of heaven. To be worthy of paradise. To be with Him.

Where are you now? Are you consumed by the darkness of the world hidden behind the bright lights and the freedom that the world made you believe you do not have the accountability for all the things that you have done while you're inside it?

I, too drank with the world, danced in its tune, lived as if life would always be available for me not realizing that the music will continue to play but my tiring body will eventually surrender no longer strong enough to keep up with the rhythm. I found myself weeping for the people I lost, the love that was never reciprocated, the things that were never mine and an unclear future. I realized I was a fool longing for the things that weren't there anymore and aren't there yet. I failed to see that I am still capable of loving because darkness has consumed my eyes.

There is hope. Always there is hope. Like a distant light no matter how small, if you walk towards the source, that little light eventually becomes big enough to see in the dark, and it won't be too dark anymore. Follow that light and you will have a reason to move forward even when everything around you is unseen. Who knows that light will turn out to be a way out of the darkness? Take those little steps no matter how slow and your knees are wobbly. Go closer and keep your eyes on it. That light is Jesus Christ.)
