The Temple

2nd Chronicles 3-4

Solomon built a temple according to the instructions that God gave him.  God is very detailed.  Every measure; every length, every width, every depth, every material, every tool used to build His temple so it would be a temple worthy of a powerful GOD.  How beautiful and precious.

God is now building His temple in each one of us.  We are His temple.  And just like the temple that Solomon built, we too, are given  a set of instructions to follow  according to what God really wants for His temple to be and that we can find in His Holy Word.  Let us ask ourselves. Have you been obedient to His commandments that we may live a holy life?

The Lord is holy we must be holy.  For it is written in 1 Peter 1:16   "Be holy for I am holy."

What does "holy" mean?  It means you are free of sin. Blameless.  Spotless.

We usually think that to be holy is a difficult  challenge. Seems impossible. In truth, if only with our own strength, we cannot be holy for we are weak to sin and easily tempted. We think of our selfish desires and worldly pleasures and needs first.

But know that you can be holy only if you desire to be.  The Lord knows our weakness that He sent us His Holy Spirit to help us resist temptations.  And it is not impossible.  But first we have to desire to be holy.  We must express desire to be holy.  Want to be holy.  Though we fail, we must persevere to live in holiness.  The Lord knows our hearts and He will help us because He loves us.  He loves us so much that He even gave us Jesus Christ.

"For God so loved the world that He gave us His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."-John 3:16

So that through Him, our sins will be washed by His Blood and we will be saved.  For His blood that flowed out has cleansed us form our sins. For the penalty of sin is blood.  Death.  Blood that in the ancient times animals were killed for as sacrifice that sins may be forgiven by God. But Jesus died, He made everything easy for He became our sacrificial lamb that we may be cleansed and worthy before the Holy One.  Therefore, it is possible to be washed from the sins that we have committed.

If you say and believe,"Jesus is My Lord and Savior, and in His name, I am washed by His blood."  It will be done. 

And then when we are clean,  we will receive the Holy Spirit to guide us and open our eyes to the true power of our Creator.  The Holy Spirit will give us the strength to fight sin, evil desires and wrong habits that are not pleasing to GOD.

For it is not by human power but by the Spirit of God that we will be able to fight our evil desires.  But first, seek Him.  Find Him. He is near.  Because we are His children.

And the mark of a true child of God, is that one has the power to trample and crush the enemy.  The Holy Spirit will give us different abilities that are possible to acquire.  Not impossible.  For if it not true the Word of God will not tell about it.  But in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 the Word says:

8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. 11 It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

Therefore it is not something strange if there are some of us who could see in the Spirit, or heal the sick in Jesus name, or prophesy or be used as mouthpiece of God.  It is possible Brethren, it is possible.  Just like the apostles before us, we too, are able to acquire gifts that the Holy Spirit sees fit us.  And some of our Brethren that are here with us, already have these gifts for they have persevered in living  holy lives in the Spirit.

And in acquiring these gifts, we should live holy lives as temple of God.   These are all possible for these have been written in His Word and only the holy ones may enter His Kingdom.

Therefore, seek God first.  Desire to be holy for we are His temple.  And a temple must be holy that God may be one with us.  And this is only possible if we follow the instructions given to us as His temple.

Always remember that this is the reason why Jesus died.  That His blood could cleanse us.  Let this be a reminder of how God loves us so much that He sent us His Only Son to save us.
