Another request for Pentagon because why not :D

"Annyeong (y/n)-ah," he said in possibly the sweetest voice you've ever heard. You couldn't help but smile at how cute your boyfriend could be sometimes :)

After closing the door, he comes right to your side and asks how you were. You responded with an "everything's fine, except I still feel a pain in my chest and my ability to walk has not improved very much."

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that you had been released from the hospital not too long ago. It wasn't anything major, but rather someone wasn't sober enough to drive properly and you were the proof of that.

Yan An knew that, but he also knew that there were better things to do with his time than resent the person who hit you. For instance, take care of you so that you could heal faster :D

So ever since you woke up in the hospital, he had been visiting you every day. He talked with you about what was going on in his life and about what your friends had been up to. He thought telling you these stories would make you smile, and they did :)

Although, there were times when you wondered about his job and the reason he was able to visit you so often. He just said that there was nothing to worry about when you tried to ask him about it.

And you didn't. Instead, you did your best focus on the stories he was telling you. It was good to know that the people you cared about weren't in any form of danger.

Soon, you were discharged from the hospital and back at home with the apartment you shared with Yan An. You were told to rest as much as you could and take the prescribed medicine, as well as attend physiotherapy for your broken ankle.

Now, you may think that would be easy, all you had to do was sit on your bum all day and get out of the house when it was time for physiotherapy. However, the problem laid in the fact that you couldn't help but feel unhelpful.

Even though those around you understood that you were still recovering from the accident, you couldn't help but suddenly feel like a burden to them. Especially Yan An, since at the moment, he was the only one that was working - meaning he was the only source of income for you two.

So you tried to think of ways to help out without straining yourself too much. But with every idea you came up with, you thought of an outcome that overrode it.

Selling arts and craft online - you didn't have the necessary materials to make the items you had in mind.

Selling old clothes - you thought nobody would like your sense of style enough to buy your clothes.

Taking online surveys that paid - that just seemed sketchy.

So you gave up on the ideas for a while and tried to take your mind off it by watching a show. Unfortunately - given the nature shows are - you ended up watching the next episode the moment the first one had ended. And when you were about to finish the series, you noticed that a week had gone by.

And in that week, all you could remember doing was watching that series. Yan An had been busy with work, so he didn't come home until the wee hours of the day. And the only interactions you remembered having with him were his rushed "goodbye"s and "I love you"s before he had to rush out the door.

And that was when you suddenly realised how much help you were to him. While he was out working all day, all you did was stay home and do nothing but watch a series. Out of all the more productive things you could've done with your time, you decided to waste it on that dumb series.

Even worse, you ended up skipping on some of your physiotherapy sessions just so that you could watch the next episode of the series, so that was a big help on your road to recovery.

And the more you thought about it, the worse you thought of yourself. Yan An didn't deserve someone who was lazy and unproductive. He didn't deserve someone who would spend their entire day just watching a series while he had to work hard to keep the roof over your heads and food on the table - or delivery, let's be real.

These thoughts just ended up bothering you for the entire day until you gave up and started crying. One week of your life had been wasted on some series. One week of your life you could've used to do something much more productive. One week of your life you'll never get back.

And oh-so-conveniently, Yan An thought he would surprise you by coming home early for the first time since you had been discharged. So when he heard you sniffling from outside the bedroom door, you could say that he got more of the surprise than you.

"(y/n), are you alright?"

When he didn't get an answer, he slowly opened the door and looked in to find you on the bed with your hands covering you face. Immediately, he comes to your side and sits next to you. He puts an arm around you and asks, "what's wrong, (y/n)?"

"I'm sorry Yan An."

Naturally, Yan An was shocked to hear that. He asks why, preparing himself for the worst possible scenario.

There began your rant on how useless you were feeling. On how you felt as if you were burdening him. The thought that while he was working hard, you were just sat at home unproductively enjoying yourself. You ended up apologising to him much more than you needed to.

Like how you listened to his stories while you were in the hospital bed, he listened to your rant while you two were in your shared bed. He felt as if everything you were saying didn't make much sense, but he didn't dare to say that out loud.

When you were done, he hugs you tighter and with a hand in your hair, he says something along the lines of, "you don't have to feel such a way, (y/n). Now should be a time for you to enjoy yourself. After all, resting and relaxing were part of the prescription."

"(y/n), you don't have to worry about money now. Just focus on getting better so that you can get back on your feet soon. There are many pretty places that I'd like to take you to, but I'll wait until you can walk well enough so that you can spend a whole day with me in the city!"

And those sweet words from your boyfriend were just enough to make you smile. Just enough to make you forget your helplessness and in return, you gave him a big teddy bear hug and thanked him. For making you look forward to that day in the city, as well as being such a great listener and motivator for you :)

[~tbh I don't know how I ended up all the way here XD Whale, hopefully that was a rollercoaster of emotions for you too :3 Comment your favourite series, whether it be a k-drama, anime or TV series :D Till the next time I write~]
