It was a lovely evening out. How would you know that? Because you were standing outside and not spending it indoors like you usually would :P

The breeze brushed by coolly as you waited for your boyfriend to arrive. He finally had a day off and wanted more than ever to spend it with you :)

You heard your name being called and turn to find the person you've been waiting for with two familiar cups in his hands.

"Hey (y/n), I'm really sorry I'm late," Hyungwon apologises, which you forgive very easily. Especially since he bought you your favourite toasty beverage from your favourite cafe.

And off you two on a walk about town. The breeze was picking up speed, bringing more chilly air to yourself and everyone else. And because you weren't expecting it while picking out clothing beforehand, you started shivering slightly.

Slight enough for Hyungwon to notice. You were wearing a sweater that looked big on you. Fashion, they said. Your sleeves went over your hands, making it a bit difficult for Hyungwon to properly hold your hand.

So the next best thing he could do was to grab your hand, along with the part of the sleeve that covered it. You were surprised since this was the first time you two held hands.

Actually, held hands as a couple. You had known each other way before Hyungwon became a trainee to become an idol. This was also your first date since he asked you to be his girlfriend. You thought about the transitions of your relationship with him and how amazing it had been.

Conveniently enough, he asks, "what are you thinking about, (y/n)?"

And so began the conversation about how you two hadn't really changed since he became an idol. Somehow, that evolved to questions about life and what it was worth ; were you two really in reality ; what is reality ; what if everything in the world wasn't actually 'real'...

After a while of questioning life, you notice Hyungwon's eyes begin to sparkle as he looks into the distance. You look in that direction and something inside of you begins to quiver as you see what it is : a Ferris wheel.

Excited, he pulls you to the location of the Ferris wheel and like a kid in a toy store, practically starts begging you to go on it with him. A war between absolute fear and wanting to please erupts within you, as Hyungwon's eyes beam so brightly, even Superman could go blind.

Since he really wanted to go on it, you pushed your fears to the side and nodded. The smile he returned was so dazzling, it could out-dazzle the sun any day.

Wait, is out-dazzle even a word? Well, it is now :D

He pays for the tickets with a light and gleeful heart. Meanwhile, you were drumming your fingers on the empty cup, tapping your feet, nibbling your lips ; anything you could distract yourself with, to think about anything else but the idea of being so far away from the ground.

Hyungwon noticed you were restless, but took it as a sign that you were still cold. So he wrapped his arms around your waist from behind and nuzzled his nose into your hair. The warmth he encased you in was comforting, but it didn't really calm the massacre of scary scenes playing in your head.

That continued while you were lining up to ride the Ferris wheel. As you got closer to the platform, your anxiety barely decreased. Even with Hyungwon hugging you tighter, his hands holding yours and playing with your fingers, you couldn't get your mind off how high off the ground you would be. Being suspended in the air in a metal carriage, held by some thick metal rods and moved in a circular motion by a big metal motor.

Finally, it was your turn to hop on. The two of you enter the carriage and the employee shuts the door and gets back to his station. You know, the one that controls the movement of the ride? Well, what is the name of that thing? XD

You were seated closer to the edge that Hyungwon, a mistake you subconsciously made and identified as a mistake when the carriage suddenly jerked forward. Looks like the ride was to begin, as well as the terrifying thoughts you had moments ago. 

You couldn't stop yourself from shaking violently, as you did your best to not look out the glass. 

Which, of course, you looked out the window anyways. The moment you saw the ground from so high up you jolted backwards, accidentally falling into Hyungwon who was just admiring the sky.

"(y/n), are you alright? What happened?" he started panicking since that was the first time you acted that way. Soon enough, he got the idea of putting an arm around you, while holding your hand that was close to him.  

"You look at the ground, didn't you?" he asks calmly and you nodded. He knew you had a fear of heights, it just so happened slipped his mind since he was so excited for your first date. He didn't mention your fear of heights though since that wouldn't be much help at the moment. 

What would be more worthwhile than poking fun at your weakness, would be to help you strengthen them? That was what loved ones were there for, right?

 "(y/n), focus on me for now, not the ground," his soothing voice reassures you. He puts his hand on the back of your head and pulls you closer to him so that you rested on his chest. While he hummed a favourite song you two shared, the vibrations coming from his chest somehow warm you up, to the point you almost forgot you were a couple hundred feet off the ground.  

The Ferris wheel soon came to a halt, but you were nowhere near the ground. He took it as the perfect opportunity to help you let go of your fear. 

He started by acting amazed, in which you asked him about it. "It's quite a nice view from here, I think you'll enjoy it," he says. 

As nervous as you were to look out the same window that startled you before, you trusted Hyungwon, as his arms, yet again, were wrapped around you, since Ferris wheels didn't really offer seatbelts for safety sake. 

You turned around, eyes tightly shut and covered with your hand. Slowly, you remove it and opened your eyes, only to be met with the mystical view of the night sky, complete with the moon and an asterism of stars :)

You take your time to take in as much of the mesmerising view as you can. The beautiful colour of blue that painted the sky ; the specific way the moon was shaped on that very night ; the number of stars and the constellations they made up. Or at least, constellations you made up yourself. 

In fact, you were so astounded with the view of the night, you may or may not have forgotten that you weren't the only person in the carriage. 

"I see you have found something else more interesting," Hyungwon mentions, pretending to be hurt. For more drama, he puts his hand over his heart, acting as if he had been shot. What a dork you had for a boyfriend.

But then again, he was an adorable dork. The adorable dork you were proud to call your boyfriend. You giggled at his little act and were supposed to plant a peck on his cheek. 

However, he turned his head ever so slightly so that you ended up with your lips on his. And that concluded your first date, the first time you held hands, the first time you were able to look out a window from so high up without backing away in fear, the first time you properly admired the sky at night and your first kiss with your boyfriend, Chae Hyungwon :)

[~This took so long to publish what even T.T Whoever has a bucket list that includes 'being kissed at the top of a Ferris wheel', I wish I knew the feeling too XD But hey, we can dream together :D Till the next time I write~]
