Chapter 12

Slowly walking up to Cullen house I spotted Esme with a small black box in her hands. She handed me the box as I neared her.
   "What's this for?" I asked looking from the box to her. She flashed me a smile.
   "It's a gift from me and Carlisle". She replied. I smiled. I was so glad to have Esme as a second mom. She was such a sweet kind caring person who truly thought of me as one of her own daughters. And that made me feel very loved.
   "Go ahead and open it dear". I nodded to her and unwrapped the black box. Opening up the top I let out a small gasp as I looked down at the long chain necklace with the Cullen crest pendent on the end.
   "Esme...". I started but stopped as a few tears fell down my cheeks. She smiled that motherly smile and pulled me into a hug.
   "We already think of you as a part of this family, but me and Carlisle wanted to make it official". She replied. I pulled away and smiled up at her.
   "Thank you. It's so beautiful". I couldn't believe that they were being so accepting of my chose and what I wanted for myself even if I was going to hurt Charlie and the rest of my family, but this is what I wanted for the rest of my life. I wanted to be with Jasper for all eternity no matter what. I loved him with all my being and I knew that he loved me just as much.
   "Would you like me to put it on for you?" She asked me. I nodded my head and pulled my hair up. She brought the necklace around my neck and hooked it together. Turning around she smiled.
   "It's prefect". I replied. She smiled and we both went inside the house. Alice and Emmett went over to me. Alice smiled at my necklace.
   "I knew she was going to love it!" Alice exclaimed with a large grin across her lips. Emmett snickered and rolled his eyes.
   "Yeah and you ruined it for the rest of us". He joked. Alice frowned.
   "Don't be so rude!" She stated.
    "As you wish princess". Alice rolled her eyes.
   "Okay you two stop arguing". Esme said. Alice sighed and walked out of the room. I glared at Emmett. He raised an eyebrow at me.
   "What!" Emmett stated. I rolled my eyes making him laugh.
   "Really Emmett?"
   "Cmon Avery her spoiling everything gets pretty annoying after awhile". Emmett replied. I sighed. Emmett did have a point when it came to Alice's vision. While her visions did prove to be helpful in dyer situations they were not so good when it came to keeping a surprise. Alice had been known to spoil some surprise that weren't meant to be spoiled and I wished that she could have just kept quiet at times.
   "You have a point but even still she's your sister and that's her gift".
   "Speaking of gifts may I talk to you Avery?" Turning around I spotted Carlisle in the doorway of his office staring at me. Esme nodded to me and I followed him into his office. Closing the the door behind me I sat down.
   "Avery may I ask you a personal question?" Carlisle questioned me with a firm tone of voice. I slowly nodded my head.
   "Sure..." I replied. He nodded.
   "Did you and Jasper share physical moments on your honeymoon?" Carlisle asked me. Blushing slightly I nodded my head.
   "I see". Was all he replied.
   "Is there something wrong that I did Carlisle? Oh dear god don't tell me I'm pregnant?!"
    "Avery please be calm. Your not pregnant". I let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness. I was not ready to be a mother and I was pretty sure neither was Jasper. 
   "Then what is it?"
    "Jasper has told me that your bruises that he gave you by accident were very small and healed relatively fast correct?"
   "Yes, but what does this have to do with my ability that I'll have as a vampire?"
   "It would seem". Carlisle stated standing up. "That like Bella as a human your gift is showing through. As a human many of our gifts would not work on Bella. Edward was not able to read her mind and Jane could not inflict pain on her".
   "Okay, but what does that mean for my ability to be able to control other vampires gifts?"
   "It means that as a human you are a bit stronger then others. You were some how able take Jasper's strength and use it while you two were physical".
   "Has this happened to anyone else besides me and Bella?" I questioned him. Carlisle shrugged.
  "Not that I've heard of. It's very rare though for a human to experience an early detection of their gift". I sighed.
   "So I'm not pregnant then..?" Carlisle let a small laugh escape from him lips. I stood up and followed him out of his office.
   "No your not pregnant Avery". He smiled. I nodded my head as he closed his office door. Letting out a sigh I found Jasper standing outside on the balcony. I smiled at his back at walked over to him. Then leaned up against him.
   "What did Carlisle say?" He asked me.
   "Good news is I'm not pregnant". I replied to him with excitement. Jasper smiled and bent down and kissed my shoulder.
  "Bad news?"
  "It's not really bad news it's just more of some strange news". I replied.
   "How so?"
   "Well Carlisle says that like with my sister my gift that I'll have as a vampire is showing through now. When we had sex on our honeymoon I sorta absorbed some of your strength. That's why I had small bruises". I explained to him. Jasper smiled up at me and wrapped his arm around me.
   "I'm glad to hear that I didn't hurt you as much as I could have". He replied making me blush.
   "Does that mean your willing to do it again?" I said bitting my lip. Jasper grinned and picked me up in his arms. Then he rushed us into our cottage.

Avery got her Cullen crest! That scene with Esme was so sweet. I should defiantly do more scenes with them. Also there will be no baby. I didn't want to do the same thing that happened with Bella. So Avery will not be getting pregnant.
